I don't think its much of a voice actor problem but a "ghost companion problem", telling the story with questionable lines and with zero chemistry between the guardian and his ghost.
In Halo, Master Chief had a good relation/chemistry with his AI Cortona, Destiny missed the mark completely with their story teller.

Agree with this 100%. Your Ghost could have been looking for you hundreds of years, and after he finds you there just doesn't seem to be much of an attachment. Really disappointing.

Good point, the ghost's searching and final discovering of the guardian seems banal and uninspired, the main aspect that kept me going were the nice vistas & graphics and to some extent Peter Dinklage's voice acting.
