It's an antique I think, but there's no way of telling. Has no manufacturer marks or anything, inside and out. Has a tin-like sound to it, clearly made for fiddling. More round on the top and bottom than most violins. Seems to be around ninety years old or so. Looks like it was dropped on the back of it at one point, but was taken to a very skilled repairman. Whoever it was added an extra polish to it too. Gonna put it on layaway tomorrow, full price is $800. Not bad in terms of violins. Needs a case.
Story behind it is that the previous owner, an older man, passed away. While sorting his possessions, however that process goes, the violin was found tucked away. There was nothing in his will about it and nobody claimed it, so some lawyers or of the like came by the music center and sold it.

Too bad it isn't the worlds smallest violin....
-
Cello is better.

Come to my place and we can jam :^)
-
No manufacturer marks? Interesting.
-
Saw the image after reading the description, it looks like it's in pretty good shape. Nice find on your part, I wish I knew violins well enough to add input but sadly I don't (though I wish to learn someday)
-
Ask to get it for $201.50.
-
I'd check if it's a scam. I'm a trumpet player so no idea on string instruments.
-
Haha scrub. #VIOLAMASTERRACE
-
800$? That's way too expensive, i wouldn't pay more than 201.50$
-
Looks like a total great deal. I expected parts of the violin scratched and worn off, but that is kept in amazing shape. I say you should get it, once you are ready you might be able to sell it later for some major moola!
-
what if it's haUNTED WITH THE OLD MANS SOUL THAT HE SOLD TO THE DEVIL FOR HIS ABILITY TO PLAY TE VIOLIN AND NOW HES STUCK IN IT FOR ETERNITY
-
Lol probs made in 1990.
-
Scrub. Violas are better.
-
I personally like violins that have a more deep, resonant sound compared to fiddle, but by your description it seems worth the price, if you're planning on playing it often.
-
you're gonna play devil went down to georgia right
-
>came expecting world's smallest violin >very dissapoint.jpeg
-
You should just buy a Stradivarius.
-
My violin is purple and black and dark blue. Get a snazzy one.
-
Kind of weird that there's no manufacturing marks. But even so if it sounds good then you can't really argue with that.
-
0/10 Needs more hot rod flames.
-
Learning a string instrument would be nice, I currently own a Getzen Eterna trumpet, and I'm going to learn piano on my mothers grand piano
-
$800 for a no name violin.... I don't know man. How did they come up with that price?
-
Edited by MisterPugly: 9/10/2015 3:42:52 AMI want to learn Violin very badly, but it seems to be too expensive right now. I guess I'll just settle for Trumpet, and working on the piano.
Inb4 suprise Strad
Edited by BlueThirty: 9/10/2015 8:20:59 PMDo you know how to play the Violin? I play the Cello.
