So as far as I'm aware, shotguns in crucible only got their perks nerfed while they took a 45% damage reduction against AI. I'm assuming that means 45% away from the current damage, so that makes it only slightly better than the original vanilla damage. (It sure feels that way too.)
Will you still use shotguns in PvE now? I probably still will but more for fun and probably not on serious endgame activities. My point-blank shotgun shots deal the same or less damage as my Benevolence now, so why risk getting up close? They still are great for bum-rushing non-major enemies, but majors just eat up the buckshot now.
EDIT: Please remember this topic is all about PvE shotgunning. I haven't noticed much difference in PvP with them.

If u do the math it's only 10% better than vanilla :(
-
Yup, although that could change once the new guns start dropping. But as far as year 1 specials go, still using my shotties.

They'll still be effective, just not effective enough to trivialize encounters with majors

I never really cared for Fusion Rifles, so when I wasn't sniping, I always had a shotty on my back. As far as I was concerned Fusions didn't exist. Shotguns were life.

My Secret Handshake still wrecks :D

Edited by Mike-MF-Hall: 9/10/2015 1:51:39 AMDunno yet. Gotta see what they feel like I've only played crucible, and they're definitely weaker there.

Lord of wolves still is awesome!

Found verdict is still pretty decent

No. If they function anything like vanilla shotguns, they just aren't viable. You don't get enough burst damage off to justify walking right into Melee range of the enemy.

Quick someone vote for no so that the poll can be balanced.
