Today I found out that this really annoying girl who used to follow me on Twitter solely to tell me how much she disliked me has apparently picked up the habit again. This confuses me, because I use Twitter to follow people I like talking to (and also for fangirling the Indianapolis Colts, if I'm going to be honest with myself), and I've never seen the point of hate-following, as it were. If I get to the point where someone on Twitter annoys me with their posts or I'm uninterested in talking to them, I just unfollow them. If people really offend me and won't leave me alone, I'll block them as a last resort.
So I guess my question is: if this girl really dislikes me so much, why wouldn't she just...not go out of her way to read what I say on Twitter? (Or anywhere else, for that matter.) What's the point of following someone you dislike? I don't do it on Twitter or Facebook, and now that following people on BNet is an option, I wouldn't do it here. But maybe I'm missing the point. If I am, explain to me - what's the deal here?

I dunno, maybe they're just dumb and crazy. What I don't understand is following a person solely for a follow-back.
