WARNING: Titan's Force Barrier may result in game freezing/crashing while active... Does this happen to you too?
After deeper investigation, I've come to the conclusion that while Force Barrier is active any other abilities used may result in game freezing/crashing (in my case it is every single time).
Please note this is after update 2.0.0 and applies to the DEFENDER class of the Titan only, so far it is one of the bugs I have encountered...
Here are the situations that make me crash every time:
- Activating Force Barrier, then meleeing an enemy.
- Activating Force Barrier, then Ward of Dawn.
- Activating Ward of Dawn without having FB active, then go outside the bubble and get FB active, returning to bubble ends in crashing.
And here the in game solutions (hope mods fix this soon!!!!!):
- The way I avoid crashing is simply by not Meleeing or using any ability after FB is active (e.g. killing with weapons only); and waiting until FB is down, regularly 3-5 secs.
Please share if this also happens to you.
I have not tested it with a third party bubble (WoD from another player...)
P.S.: I am running Destiny on X1.

1 ReplyMy wife and I had this problem as well but when we took off our Ruin Wings, it seemed to stop doing it. Don't know if this is true for anyone else but that is what happened with us.

Having this issue too, this is the 2nd bug I've hade since TTK The other bug has made it so I don't get my hunter class shader & artifact from hitting lvl 40 quest

Edited by Creed: 9/15/2015 7:13:55 AMHas happened to me twice since the big update. First time was running Omnigul and i popped blessing of light - froze but could hear audio just fine. Second time was just this night while i was running patrol on the moon. All i did was punch a dregg and start shooting (with Fatebringer) - same result. The only armor piece i was wearing in both situations was Ruin Wings. Hope Bungie can figure it out soon because i love the titan classes! (Running on Xbox One)

I found switching to Weapons of Light seems to reduce the chance of crashing, but it doesn't prevent you from crashing inside someone else's bubble. 2 times I crashed during a Hard Mode raid coz someone else planted a shield when fighting Templar/Atheon and I lost my places in those fireteams :(.

This has happened to me twice in a row. Running Omingul weekly and popping my bubble in that first doorway in the first section and it crashes mid bubble pop. Twice in the same exact spot, within 10 minutes of each other.

It happened to us while we were doing the 34 PoE - very annoying. It might me useful for people to state their setup to see if there is a pattern - what perks, what guns, what armour... even what shader and tea towel they are wearing.

Had this happen three times in a row. Blessing was on no force barrier active yet every time I pop my bubble crash. Ps4

Hmm I've run defender a few times since 2.0 and me and my mate usually have one random or other friend who also uses it and I've never had it freeze on us.

I have this exact problem. Anytime I activate a bubble or walk into a bubble, my game crashes. I haven't tested the FB thing yet but usually i don't have it when i use my bubble. Someone on reddit mentioned that it happens for them only when weapons of light is active.

7 RepliesOMG YES! It is happening to me occasionaly but this is really sucks since i cant really risk of using my titan. For example. crashing in the middle of a raid like the king's fall and Im on the Xbox One and I've be looking on google to see if people keep getting their screens frozen after update 2.0 and i think this is the reason why.

I'm on PS4. so its def a destiny error. edit, reinstalling did not help. the problem is def FB together with WoD. if u just melee, fine. but bubble then melee with FB, crash. every time

I activated Ward Of Dawn, stepped out to punch an enemy in Crucible and crashed my game. Same thing during the Nightfall.

For me the problem was that iis was using the ruin wings on my defender when i removed them the game was working just fine fb and the bubble Hope this solved this for some of you
