I didn't have a problem with dinklebot But I'm a huge fan of 343 guilty spark so I like the new nolandbot voice

Edited by Un1337ninj4: 9/9/2015 7:57:36 AMNorthbot is much more inquisitive. Feels like an actual companion. (reminds me of Guilty Spark) Dinklebot came across as cynical "been here done that" -when he hasn't-, and often just out right board. Now, some lines under Dinkleage's spin were better imo, but overall I'd say Nolan North did some pretty good work, very refreshing.

Look at what Nolan is playing.... A tiny little ball shaped ghost. A "little light". Nolan's voice fits the character so much better
-
I really liked NN as Nathan Drake. His voice made that game for me. It still is a top pick for me and I'll be grabbing the 4th one no matter what the reviews are like. I'm not sure how much input he had for this but it just isn't working for me. I can barely feel any emotion from him. Now maybe that was the plan, to make Ghost less 'human' but I prefer the Ghost that wants to stay with the 'Murderous robots."
-
I think the only reason people like Dinklage as the ghost is because of who he is, which makes him likeable even in his worst performance. Casuals don't know who Nolan North is, so he's easier to hate.
-
I think they're both very talented actors, but very different. Peter Dinklage plays Ghost like a leading man, testosterone uninhibited, cynical and sarcastic. Based on interviews, he was kind of just being himself, not caring too much about what you thought. Nolan North, on the other hand, is playing Ghost like a mild-mannered sidekick, geeky, polite and self-effacing. And this is the guy who played Nathan Drake -- this actor can do a lot of different voices, and he/they chose this one. I think he sounds like Otacon from Metal Gear Solid -- the archetypal helper. I believe both gave it their best. Yes, even Peter Dinklage. He can't help that his natural speaking voice sounds more monotone, or 'bored,' than others. I sincerely think everything was on purpose as a creative decision. I don't believe anybody 'phoned it in.' All actors just have very different minds, and directors change their minds too.

Northreepio blows
-
Dinklebot had no emotions in his lines yes I know he's a robot but still. Nolan sounds kinda gay I thought the voice from the trailers was going to be how the ghost sounded very disappointed
-
Dinklebot for sure. This new one is terrible
-
Dinklebot. But I think that's because I'm more familiar with him. Northbot will grow on me but right now I'm not a fan.
-
Typical forum trolls... Dinklebot stinks! Change the voice! Bungie: so you shall receive Boo, this ghost sucks, why did you get rid of the original?
-
I thought Dinklebot was better, but it will be nice to not have ghost go mute when all the DLCs come out.
-
They changed it because Nolan was more available ... And people disliked Dinkelbot for some reason.
-
If I had to choose between old voice and new I'd choose the old voice. I didn't have a problem with it. If I had a choice from anyone...the guy who does the voice for Sterling Archer. Hahaha.
-
Nolandroid sounds a little like Baymax from Big Hero 6 to me. I dig it
-
I prefer NolanBot
-
If nolandroid was the voice for the past year we would all be more accustomed to him. Nolan is a great voice actor but it's hard to be a voice actor for something that had another voice actor for a year. Dinklebot set a standard for ghost voice and because we heard him a lot anything other than his voice just sounds unusual to us. Everybody will get used to it in a few weeks.
-
Come on guys make up your minds!! I don't care who voices my ghost just as long as you guys make up your minds!!
-
Dinkie was cool yea he couldve had a bigger emotional connection to the player but they fucked it up with Nolan
-
Not even close. Dinklage.

Edited by NuLuxe: 9/9/2015 8:07:35 AMNew guy sounds like a fgt

I'm not a fan of the new voice, but I don't think it's because Nolan North is bad. Somewhere along the line a bad creative decision was made, but who made it is unknown to me . I'm not sure if Bungie told him to do what he thought worked for the character and this is what he came up with or if this is what Bungie directed him to do. Either way, terrible call. I love the ambient sounds of Destiny, but I'm considering turning on subtitles and playing without sound at this point.

Bring dinklebot back

RIP DINKLEBOT

Getting someone new is better than having a silent ghost for all upcoming releases, hands down. Plus reviews on his voice acting was negative, he may have said eff it and told Bungie he was done.
