I am normally on here defending bungie and the changes they have made, and the nerfs they have made. But I just discovered one that has me very pissed off. The change to Hopscotch Pilgrim.
I spent weeks grinding Dragon Strikes to get this gun specifically for its stability and impact combination, I would have gotten the messenger if I could stand trials, but people take that too seriously and makes the game mode zero fun to me. And if I wanted the 55A-Allfate I would have purchased it from the vendor and not grind-ed for this weapon.
I come to find that the gun has literally been turned into a re-skinned 55A-Allfate now. Why does this get targeted like that when the Messenger with Perfect Balance is almost identical, and that gets left alone? Leaving behind my VoG weapons from the PVE activities is one thing, I can still pull them out for crucible and it doesn't seem like my time was wasted. But taking a weapon that I spent 2 to 3 weeks grinding to get to drop, then another week reforging to get perks that I liked, is actually making the time I spent getting the gun a waste. I now can't even use a weapon I worked hard for a loved for regular crucible, because it literally is no more.

Edited by Pixel Crisis: 9/10/2015 6:16:48 PMLOL. First off, just get the spare change .25 ... Also video games are a waste. If everything was exactly how you wanted. And the game goes offline years from now...guess what? All those years were wasted. Its entertainment, and if u didn't have fun grinding for that gun, you're playing the wrong game for the wrong reasons bud.

This post must be really old

This. What was the point of gunsmith reforging at all? What's the point of working towards any weapon if it's made useless constantly at new content drop or nerfed or broken by bad code and never really fixed? ( vex/pocket infinity amongst others)
-
I still use it sometimes, it isn't the same. Rest in Piece.
-
If you need the weapon that badly...
-
None of the pvp reward pulses were nerfed lol

Thus gun is so op. Omg still beasting after the update. F×$ k yeahhhhh!!!

Edited by G24C: 9/9/2015 5:18:00 AMI hate to say it, but when I saw generically all the changes of 2.0 every body was going yea! Thorn is being nerfed. I said no everything is being nerfed and some degree ARs. All the perk changes I can tell with a quick run through this change has affected all guns. The way they feel, handle and perform. So far I've not been pleased. Though most of the Auto riffles are better than they where in a long time. But my hopscotch pilgrim seems a bit off than before. This is what I was afraid of when I saw it. Most that people told me, no Bungie will not make that mistake again. Well so far I'm not impressed. So are a couple of friends.

I'm surprised that after the 2.0 patch notes were released that folks were still playing for hopscotch pilgrim. You should've known better.
-
Agreed!

Now you know why they named it TAKEN King. I really liked the idea of a 10 yr game. One where you built up your character over time, acquired rare guns that you wanted to hang onto, leveled up just the right combo of armor til you got the style you wanted. But this isn't that game. It's apparently 10 one-year games, but no one told us. Makes me far from enthusiastic to grind away another year. Lame.
-
I still have never seen it so it means nothing. Plenty of guns to choose from still, and more on the way.
-
Nerds
-
You guys sound like thorn users. And you wanted thorn nerfed which would have made hopscotch the best in the game, you just wanted to keep using your crutch. Guess what it's just like the all fate now, which also rocks, it's not even bad
-
I used mine last night. It's still a very good weapon in crucible.
-
Could'nt care less about this gun to be honest. I rarely got killed by it in the crucible and the hype for it here was so annoying. Good riddance.
-
its ok bro, i know how you feel. but just remember, its just a stuoid video game that was going to get old and played out anyway.

Edited by eikonoklastes: 9/10/2015 6:31:32 AMThe Hopscotch Pilgrim was crazy overpowered. It needed balancing or it would already have been the new 2.0 meta by now. Guns that kill super fast from range (not including snipers) should not exist. Bungie did the right thing.

I am here to defend Bungie's decision to "change" Hopscotch Pilgrim. I'm here to defend Bungie, not because I like Bungie because I feel strongly indifferent about them. Rather, from a pvper's standpoint, I'm defending the idea to change it. Notice how I didn't say nerf, because they didn't nerf it. Nerfing would imply that they reduce the effectiveness of it, which they didn't. It's still the best pulse rifle in the game, a statistical favorite to the messenger. Hopscotch beats the Messenger in RoF, Stability, Magazine size and can even be reforged to fit the player's play style. It's a three burst to the head vs. the Messenger's two but consider this: Hopscotch has a faster RoF, this getting the damage off quicker than the Messenger with near no recoil, thus getting those head shots are considerably easier than The Messenger. Couple that with a larger magazine and you can afford to miss a lot more than with the messenger. Couple that with reforging and you can customize it how you like it, unlike the messenger which is fixed. The main reason I'm ok (not in support but ok) with the change is that a two burst with the head on a pulse rifle like the one I have with Max stability, near max range and a huge magazine would spell overpowered very quickly in today's meta. They would have to actually nerf it like they did with The Messenger's stability, which I'd rather them not do. In short, Hopscotch is still the best pulse rifle and to think its nerf'd for being put into a different archetype is frankly....ignorant. It's damage is reduced but it fires faster, thus the net damage is unchanged.

Hopscotch Pilgrim was one of the guns I liked to use in Cruicible. I don't play it much, other than Iron Banner. Not only did Bungievision screw me out of a good gun in PVP. They took away all my good guns in PVE. The "TAKEN" King has arrived and took all my good guns away. Thanks for nothing, Activision!
-
My Hopscotch works just fine 100% stability , Third Eye and Headseeker

Bungie are not making Destiny a fun game anynmore
-
It's really not bungie's fault that you wasted so much of your life trying to get a gun that you knew was going to become obsolete
-
Bungie said it was. The pilgrim with perfect perks is a true killer. Way over balanced. Players complained about about bad weapon balance. Then when Bungie makes a fix, everyone complains. Pvp'ers might someday learn that complaining about fairness never turns out well.
