Could Kabr still possibly be alive? And what is the lore about him, before he went insane?

His body may still be alive, but his mind is long gone. He was driven insane by the realization that he had an entire fireteam that he could not remember. That, accompanied with the thought-based Vex that infiltrated his brain, caused his fall. Pahanin Errata witnessed this descent into madness, and recorded some of the more important things that he said. Kabr pierced the Vault, letting in the Light. He also created the Aegis using his own Light and the hammered chassis of a Gorgon

I'm new to this whole lore thing, especially the VOG. What is the aegis? And who is the other other person you mentioned?
-
The Aegis is the shield in the Vault. It is used to destroy the Templar's shield and kill Atheon. During the Atheon fight, it binds past, present, and future together; every Guardian that ever fought, could have fought, or would fight Atheon is damaging him at the same moment. That's why you deal so much damage during Time's Vengeance. Pahanin Errata was a Hunter who witnessed Kabr's fall. He became frightened of traveling alone, and so created the Super Good Advice, a machine gun with an AI, to keep him company.

That makes so much more sense. I appreciate your time, hope I didn't annoy you.
-
Nah, it's perfectly fine. Always willing to help!
-
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think SGA has an AI in it because Pannin reasoned that as long as a mind could perceive him, he must exist. He built in in response to the powers in the vault that could delete you from existence.
-
Possibly. The reason we are all taught was that he became frightened of traveling alone, but there might be something deeper

Very cool lore. Wish SGA did talked to you in the game. Actually it would be cool if the story had a fraction of the awesome things discussed in this thread.
