I posted this as a reply in another thread, but I feel like it deserves its own thread. I would submit to you that part of the expected content of Destiny is time spent playing socially. I would say that Destiny is like Alcohol. -Everyone starts out just fine. Some people find they don't like it and move on. -Eventually you find your favorite part of it and you stick to it for the most part, until someone makes something new for you. -Some people do it socially, some people are addicted. -Some people enjoy it, some people hate it and find using it tiresome. -Some people think it is the greatest evil there is, while others are willing to defend it to the death. Most people are just content to let it be what they want though. I'm a social Destinier for now, but I also consider myself a connoisseur. I want to experience a little bit of all of it. There may be better hobbies, like Witcher 3, but none of them are long term. And don't get me started on legit MMOs like WoW. I have a friend who smokes 2 packs a day...erm...plays 12 hours a day. That stuff will kill you. Don't push the Prohibition. It will just lead to worse things, like cocaine.
