Personally, I find this bae thing funny because I am told it's short for babe and that is silly. Babe is one syllable and so is bae, it's not short for anything; heck, it's more likely a misspelling than anything else. The "before anything else" makes more sense to me but, again, there's a word that sounds exactly the same and it means something else. If it really did mean that, then it should be in all caps. As a side note, my Norwegian friend laughed hard when she saw it starting to appear on fb. I trust her given she speaks the language.
