I'm starting up a country club, white males only. We need a safe environment where we feel comfortable. Let me know if anyone is interested.

Unfortunately this is based in truth. August National allowed their first female member in 2012. Why not just have a clan where the prerequisite for entry is "be a decent human being", not a specific ethnicity or gender.

If you take a look at a comment posted on this thread by our founder, you'd see that our goal is to provide a safe place for female gamers, who often face various types of harassment from male gamers they encounter. Doesn't mean we don't also play with guys, or that we don't like guys, just that we find value in providing a space where we can guarantee that particular type of harassment won't occur. Looking at our group's size, l see a lot of other women find value in it as well.

Just because you made an exclusive clan and people joined doesn't make it right. Please see my post for a more appropriate prerequisite for admission. It's disturbing that you don't see the fundamental issue with any type of exclusive organization.

What's disturbing to me is that you seem to feel entitled to determine for someone else what is/is not an appropriate perquisite for admission to their group. Oh, wait, that is a pretty fair definition of how privilege works - deciding for others the terms under which they should exist and punishing them for noncompliance. You can take that elsewhere, we're not interested here.
