Overpowered Weapons Reduce Your Skill In Destiny.

Seriously. I really think they do this. I think they make you rusty. I believe this because usually when you use an overpowered weapon for the first time, you do insanely well compared to what you normally use. Like switching from a normal handcannon to a thorn/TLW. Let's say someone recently gets a TLW. Normally they do well in the crucible, using a normal hand cannon like Her Mercy. They use TLW for the first time and do very well. This usually makes players want to use it more and more, motivated by the desire to play well in the crucible, maybe increase K/D ratios. However, this is also when you start to rely on that specific gun constantly. How you need it to do well. How it's so reliable that you feel like using any other weapon would be a stupid idea, unless you want to have fun. It's always a good idea to do that. That is when I believe you start to lose your own skills in gunplay. If you start to constantly rely on a certain weapon, you may lose your way to fight without it. I think it's when your ability to adapt is fading away. To be honest, I don't think the best players are the ones that always come out on top of a leaderboard, or how big their K/D is. Maybe it's a play style they use that makes them great? These things may have some influence over that (They probably do) but I don't think that's the biggest variable. I believe the one thing that makes you good is your ability to adapt. The ability to use any gun, class, grenade, ability, etc. and so fantastic. The ability to do good regardless of what you have, and regardless of what map you play on. I'll try to prove my point: Let's say a game in clash has 2 players. Player 1 with all the really powerful things like thorn, a final round sniper/high range shotgun, and the ram, and blink. A sunsinger with fire bolt grenade. This player chose all these weapons and abilities to do well. Player 2 is a maxed gunslinger with incedinary grenade, a rare auto rifle, 4 golden gun shots, double jump, and a sniper WITHOUT final round. All these weapons and abilities were given to him randomly. Player 2 mains a Titan mostly. Both player are on opposite teams, and do the best on their leaderboards. They both have the exact same score, and amount of kills. Player 1 has a few less deaths than player two. Now. Both players did incredible, but one adapted to his weapon, class, and abilities. Grenade included. The other chose all his weapons and abilites, which likely means he plays like that often in the crucible. Now, if we gave player 1 a randomly of gear and a class he doesn't main, would he still play as good? Possible, but unlikely. I think this proves what I've been trying ro say. Overpowered weapons not only lessen your gunskill if you use them constantly, but adapting is the most important thing in PVP. Or I'm wrong and a giant idiot.
