I know how to push off atheon even after patch (I think). I haven't tried it yet but I saw a video

It's harder to push him off then to just kill him legit.

They never patched the second method because it's not easy to do I guess. If you have to push Atheon off at this point in the game, then there is no hope for you lol. Atheon is a cakewalk now.
