Xbox One uses computer RAM cards that aren's as powerful as the PS4's gaming specialized RAM. The PS4 has a much smoother and faster GUI. Before you call me a PS4 fan boy; I'm getting a Xbox One when I can afford it.

Edited by PrimaryNotFound: 9/5/2015 8:39:10 PMIt's called GDDR5 and it was not specifically made for the PS4. It's been around for a long time. GDDR5 offers a high bandwidth which is great for graphics, but has a high latency which makes it not ideal for computing. DDR3 offers a lower bandwidth but also has lower latency. Which is why computers use it. PS4 uses GDDR5, high bandwidth and high latency Xbox One uses DDR3 and also uses eSRAM to help make up for the lower bandwidth while maintaining the lower latency.
-
Funny, considering I have had any latency issues.
-
I was stating the differences between the two. I didn't say there was a latency problem with the PS4.
-
We have halo and old games like assassins creed and mw2 on the xbone
-
I'm talking about console superiority, not exclusive games, that's all opinion.
-
The consoles are exactly the same, you never notice a difference. So pick the one with superior games
-
Xbox doesn't have superior games. In fact, Microsoft only has about 5 console exclusive games, while Sony has over 20 console exclusive franchises. And besides Halo, there hasn't been an xbox exclusive worth mentioning.
-
But halo to me was ok n gears of war but I had a Xbox, 360, and x1 but I have also had all the playstations also to me I prefer the playstation not for exclusives but all round
-
First off "better games" is opinion and secondly the graphics and GUI are both superior on PS4
-
Ps4 also has retarded controllers and a bad interface. And there is little room for opinion where's there's better ratings and sales
-
I don't have an issue with the PS4 controllers and the interface meaning the party system and messaging is much faster. On my brother's Xbone it can take minutes sometimes just to send a party invite.
-
Better sales? Not for Xbox one. PS4 is still destroying Microsoft's sales figures.
-
Exactly lol! Even when Microsoft lowers the prices of XBONE like 20 times and PS4 leaves it the same since launch the sales are crazy! #PS4
-
What's even better is that the fanboys don't realize the upcoming backwards compatibility is an attempt to improve sales.
-
We were talking games pal, speaking of which, halo is better than any ps exclusive game
-
Not a chance. If Halo was that good don't you think more Playstation owners would have bought an xbox to play it? I never had any interest in playing that shit.
-
There's no such thing as gaming specialized RAM, lol.
-
Yeah actually ther is, it was made specifically for the PS4 to support higher quality without taking up as much space
-
Edited by Deterministic J: 9/5/2015 7:30:12 PMSure, they can tell you that, but there's no such thing. It's all marketing. I guarantee you if you open up a PS4, the RAM is nothing special and definitely not specifically made for the PS4. Both consoles are just a computer with a special motherboard, nothing spectacular.
-
But it could be easily made just for a ps4 and wouldn't cost that much more
-
Yes but that's the thing, I have pulled apart a PS4 and it isn't just RAM from a sony computer.

Edited by Deterministic J: 9/5/2015 8:07:12 PMIt's Samsung GDDR5 that has been on NVIDIA graphics cards previously, it's very high quality, but not specific to the PS4. Samsung K4G41325FC-HC03 is the model number. RAM is too generic to be made specific for a certain product. Way too much cost involved to do such a thing.
