Open a paypal case saying "item not as described". They will get your money back.
My full time job is selling on eBay. Did you email him? Maybe he made an honest mistake and sent the wrong one.

He says he made a mistake. I'm going to have to wait for now. If I never hear from him again, i'll open a dispute. Right now because of his ship date, ebay doesn't think the item has had time to arrive, so it won't let me open anything.

Yep exactly, you'll have to wait a few days to open it. If he made a mistake and knows about it, I don't see why he won't to send you the correct code....
