She should've just been fired. Bottom line is she took a state job and sometimes that would require ignoring your religious convictions. If you don't think you can you should never have got the job in the first place.

It's an elected position so she couldn't be fired. The court ordered her to do her job but she refused so she's going to jail for refusing a court order.

I didn't think that was an elected position. My mistake. She got what she deserved then.
