Yeah, I know. But you just sacrificed your sword arm to get a hit in.
The hybrid "wings" roar to life as a wall of thermite assembles around Phoenix, giving him a thick second skin outside of his armour.
The shotgun pellets dig into and bounce off of the grey armour, some actually breaching the extra layer and getting embedded into the exosuit. It was made to be tougher than General Blackjack's, so it would probably be able to stand up to a shotgun spread without the thermite armour. Regardless, it was better not to take chances.
With multiple churning motions, the thermite "armour" of his unbends and turns into twin tendrils that race towards Sal. As they do that, he shoots more of his explosive .308 from his minigun at him.
Sheathing all of his weapons whilst the minigun fires, his prosthetic left arm begins morphing and changing... Four triangular curved pieces unfold from his biceps, pushing upwards to surround his gauntlet. They form together, creating a spinning Bioshock-like drill with a 10-silver-micron tip.
He hovers in the air, awaiting Sal's next move as he continues to fire at him.
I'm not gonna give away everything, but know that the drill is made to be an energy sink.
