Regardless of the edit or not, I don't see LGBT couples going to churches and asking to get married. I go to church every Sunday, and I haven't seen an LGBT marriage ceremony in the 15 years I've been here.
The issue was that the government clerk was using the State's power to refuse marriage to LGBT couples. It was a blatant abuse of power, and the federal judge was justified in his actions to jail her (Even though it was a jerk move). It wasn't because her 1st Amendment rights were being violated, because they weren't.
Religious institutions are exempt from this, since it violates their first amendment rights. I know LGBT couples will not ask the church to marry them, and I can support that. Religious churches are essentially private institutions, so they do have the right to refuse service to anyone. Religious institutions aren't under attack. This is just a typical case of Separation of Church and State and will probably be resolved in a couple of days or so.
