I have this theory. That the cabal aren't just afraid of oryx. When you look at it, it all stacks up. The cabal are afraid of the fallen. What would a giant militaristic nation be afraid of??? A larger army than theirs. So you ask, how would the two even know about each other? Servitors and psions. They look like they came from the same planet, right? But that is not enough. Psion in roman times were imprisoned soldiers. The only reason the fallen look up to the servitors is their ability to provide ether. My theory is that the cabal and fallen met up on the psion/servitor home world and had a war for its inhabitants, and everything got divided up. This would make sense seeing as both races love to conquer other places. Maybe perhaps when the traveler was at the psion/servitor homeworld. The cabal are running from the fallen because they saw their might on this planet. And we can be sure of this due to mars being the only place in the game the fallen are not at. They are afraid.

I believe the cabal once had a vast empire that had conquered many worlds. Then they found the darkness...and advance parties were sent out to the stars to save the empire, find a way to fight back. The cabal found our system and the traveler and trenched in on Mars. It is possible the cabal homeworld was destroyed by the darkness but it is known the cabal on Mars have lost contact with the emperor, and are divided about their purpose and methods to achieve their mission, with infighting among some of the Val and valus. Since the cabal are militaristic, I believe them to be much more interested in the warmind than the traveler. I mean, the traveler is damaged and unresponsive but Rasputin is still alive and raining fire from the sky. All the grimoire and story missions talk of the cabal searching for the warmind on Mars, almost indifferent to the traveler. Cabal want a weapon to fight the enemy that they don't understand (darkness), and that weapon is Rasputin.

Possibly. The Flayers certainly conversed with Rasputin inside the Dust Palace. I feel like they're also concentrated on Mars because they're afraid of attracting the Hive's attention

The House of Kings have a listening outpost on Mars 4. The Cabal have an entire, massive Empire. The Eliksni are now just scattered, weakened Houses

The fallen used to be more massive than anything and have the traveler to back it up, servitors are not entirely machine, i have never seen fallen on mars( if there are they are in small amount) and

Edited by Ruin Tree: 9/4/2015 1:29:57 AMBut the Fallen aren't large now, and the Traveler no longer supports them. Servitors are simply ether-making machines. Psions deal Arc damage. And Xander 99-40 has a piece of dialogue that says "Kings listening outpost, Olympus Mons"

Look at one of the cabal ghost fragments. It clearly differentiates psions from normal cabal. Im sure you have already seen it

I realize that xander says that but that is extremely vague and could relate to vex or cabal. Or just be old fallen stuff. The house of kings would be the only house to have bases on two planets. And that would be wierd

The Wolves are present on Earth, Luna, and Venus. And it's apparent the Kings are the most powerful House: they have Kell, Archon, and Prime, & they orchestrated Twilight Gap

The wolves reference is an exception because their house was captured, freed, then eliminated their leadership and were forced to scatter. We do not know much about the kings at all period.

They most likely still have all of their leadership, and I'm pretty sure it's proven that the Kings orchestrated Twilight Gap. If Xander, the Bounty Tracker, comments that the House of Kings has a listening outpost on Mars, the probably do. And based off of their relations with the Wolves, and the fact that there is a TTK mission on Mars where you fight the Wolves, the Kings are certainly on Mars

Yeah, I'm pretty sure they're different species, or at least different sub-species, but Servitors and Psions have nothing really tying them together
