If you are really a Christian then you should be voting for the second option, unless you're a hypocrite. If I'm correct, your religion believes that Marriage is an institution of God, no? And if I'm also correct, the Bible condemns homosexuality. How then, can you say that it would be ok for a Christian to give a marriage license to homosexuals? Would not this be in direct violation of the Marriage arrangement implemented by God, the same being who said he isn't too fond of homosexuals?

 • I'm saying its not our belief and we shouldn't marry them, but we shouldn't try to publicize it and discriminate against them.

 • If you're saying that she should issue marriage licenses to them, you're a hypocrite to your religion.

 • She doesn't have to issue marriage licenses, though. She can always quit.

 • So you want to force her out her job because she want to follow her religion?

 • Nobody is forcing her out of her job except her. If you were a Hindu working at a restaurant and the restaurant eventually starts serving beef, should the restaurant be forced to stop serving beef or should the Hindu just quit?

 •
Nobody is forcing her out of her job except her.
They are calling for her to quit because she follows her religion. She wouldn't quit if she doesn't have to.
If you were a Hindu working at a restaurant and the restaurant eventually starts serving beef, should the restaurant be forced to stop serving beef or should the Hindu just quit?
You can't force a privately owned company to do something like that. Bad example is bad.

 •
They are calling for her to quit because she follows her religion. She wouldn't quit if she doesn't have to.
They are calling for her to quit because she is discriminating and isn't doing her job properly. What religion she chooses to follow is irrelevant in their decision to fire/jail her.
You can't force a privately owned company to do something like that. Bad example is bad.
Should the Hindu quit or should he refuse to do anything that has to do with beef even if his specific job requires him to? Would it be unfair if the restaurant fires him for not doing his job even if he has religious motives behind him not doing his job?

 •
They are calling for her to quit because she follows her religion. She wouldn't quit if she doesn't have to.
They are calling for her to quit because she is discriminating and isn't doing her job properly.
I thought you said no one is forcing her to quit? Pick a side already.
What religion she chooses to follow is irrelevant in their decision to fire/jail her.
That's the entirety of the basis by which she did it! It's her whole defense! It's the question I'm posing to you. If it's against her religion to issue marriage licenses to homosexuals, is it lawful to force her to keeping in mind the Freedom of Religion right? If you force her to do something against her religion or punish her for it or force her into a negative course of action, is this not unconstitutional, if not, how? Because she works for the state? So then, you have no rights when you become a state employee?
Should the Hindu quit or should he refuse to do anything that has to do with beef even if his specific job requires him to? Would it be unfair if the restaurant fires him for not doing his job even if he has religious motives behind him not doing his job?
It depends, in this whacky universe where a Hindu wants to be in the restaurant business despite knowing there is beef there, is it illegal to refuse beef to people? May I add that there are other ways he can work in the same job without being exposed to beef.

 • You seem to be convinced that she has the right to keep her job no matter what. She isn't doing her job by not issuing marriage licenses to gay couples. If our hypothetical Hindu joined before they switched to beef then he would want to get a new job or switch to a position that doesn't require him to be near the beef. If he kept his job as cook but refused to cook certain things then they would fire him for not doing his job.

 • I all honesty, I was just bored and saw this on the news. As I predicted, The Flood came pouring in with their opinions. I find debate a healthy way to pass the time. So I'm just arguing with anyone that comments. Unfortunately, the comments are severely lopsided on one side. And honestly you're right. I don't like her. She's a hypocrite and ugly lol no offense to anyone ugly reading this. But I just did this to pass the time so....I really don't feel too strongly one way or the other. I would probably be really on her side if she wasn't such a hypocrite. I'm actually sad that she has to represent Christians in this issue. My real opinions: She's a hypocrite and not a good representation of Christians. I believe that thee can be a case for "The Freedom of Religion" but she can just quit too. Probably would feel bad for her if she wasn't so intolerant.
