What I mean by Ghost HUD UI – The quick menu that comes up where you see patrol missions/current objectives. To me this is a quick access menu that doesn’t take away from immersion.
What I would like to see. Better/more use of this quick access menu.
What has been announced. Bounties and missions can be better tracked here.
Specific requests for this menu. I would like to see more information that is hidden in the deep menu be made available on Ghost HUD UI menu in a semi user customizable form. As in, any “trackable” item/rep/value should be able to be toggled onto the Ghost HUD UI quick access menu. After all the Ghost is displaying an all new alternate HUD for the players convenience. The ability to see the players cooldowns for synths, or timer left on glimmer items/purchased buffs, would be great in this menu. Even let the player track a faction rep or two (this bit might be coming in TTK already. I can’t remember)
The second and possibly more important thing I would like to see. Quick access slots. 4 to 8 items that can be set to show up on the Ghost HUD UI. When the Ghost HUD UI is initiated, the dpad and shoulder buttons change function to quick slot mode, and enable access to activating the bound item slot. This would be nice for activating Synths, and Glimmer items in a more immersive and seamless way. There is no reason these need to be locked behind the deep menu. With the exception of PVP. Maybe the quick slots/binds are locked out in PVP mode so that the meta doesn’t gravitate toward quicker synth use.
The quick slots can be set in the deep menu by adding another “use action” to currently useable items. This action would bind to maybe Y (or whatever Y is on PS) and when pressed would bring up a submenu to select the quick slot button that will activate it (DPAD or shoulder/bumper button association)
And yes I know it’s not all that hard to dig into the deep menu to access ALL of this stuff. But why not bring it forward to the Ghost HUD UI in a semi user customizable way, and keep the player immersed in being their Guardian rather than digging through the deep menu. The Ghost HUD UI has the benefit of feeling like the player is using their guardian to interact with their Ghost. Whereas the deep menu takes you out of the Guardian POV and dumps you in a lifeless paperdoll/menu system.
