Thread is recapping the stream plus other info given out on twitter. I will also have a little snippet at the end to explain how the light/leveling system is different simply because i've seen quite a few threads saying leveling/ end game is the same.
~court of oryx can have 9 guardians in the area.
~court of oryx has 3 tiers each increasing in difficulty and changing what you fight.
~base tier is the easiest tier with one encounter of enemies.
~tier 2 uses tier one bosses but 2 at the same time and at higher values. tier 2 recommends you be 240 light.
~tier 3 are raid like bosses with the best loot. No actual game play of tier 3 was shown.
~exotic sword revealed. uses heavy ammo. seems like all 3 people used the same sword but at a different element.
~the person who sacrifices the rune gets the best rewards but anyone who helps gets some rewards as well.
~40 second timer between encounters allowing other people to use a rune if they like.
~white, blue, and purple runes exist. White are used for tier one blue for tier 2 and purple for tier 3.
~runes can be bought from eris morne. what kind she sells and how much they cost is not known. I'm assuming white ones and maybe blue. So far weve seen the blue runes drop from the court of oryx chest and legendary runes drop from random special taken that spawn randomly in patrol.
~you can use a white rune off the bat. But blue runes and legendary runes require you to complete a certain amount of these events to charge the rune for use.
~we saw a random locked chest in the small area. Requires a special key. Probably one of the many chests you have to find to build a certain exotic.
~MIDA multi tool was confirmed to not come at launch of TTK but might later on. Ghorn was confirmed to be left behind. Meaning a majority of exotics from year 1 will eventually have year 2 remakes. But not all. The only one we know for sure that is never coming is ghorn.
~Xur will sell a consumable that increases exotic drop rate on your next boss kill.
~strike streak bonuses are a thing. The longer you continue a playlist with out returning to orbit the better things become (better drops more exp/glimmer etc)
~Strike spesific loot confirmed (at least for the new strikes) an example is a hunter wearing the cape phison flayers wear.
~xur will sell a "legacy engram" that only drops year 1 exotic gear. this is for collectors and xbox players who didn't have access to the PS exclusive year 1 exotics.
Now for the light/level snippet. People have been complaining that end game hasn't changed. Because you still need to be a high light level. And you still need to seek out end game gear to be effective in end game. and in that sense they are right. However what they added was flexibility. Meaning while you still have to search out end game gear in order to push yourself to end game level. You now have the option to infuse. which lets you choose the gear you want to use. and while light level is important. the gap between levels no longer exists.
Datto's group for instance was at light level 200. The recommended light level for tier 2 was 240. They couldn't damage the enemies. However the moment him and his group hit light level 201 suddenly they can damage the enemies pretty effectively and not die instantly. So now the progress between gaps (and by gaps I mean your current light level and the activity recommended level. Not the gap between light levels) matters a great deal. Enemy level matters less now. and the penalty for not being the recommended light level is less.
TLDR: the end game ritual is the same as it always has been. However the player now has full control of the gear they use in end game. and the penalty for being under leveled (up to a certain point 40 to be exact) isn't as harsh as it used to be. Meaning more players can participate in end game with friends. Because they will be able to live longer and do meaningful damage still.
Hopefully this was helpful to someone.
