Still no answer on question of pricing of Digital Download for TTK outside US. In many countries the price is extortionate and makes no sense at all compared with physical copies on disc.
TTK Digital Download in US - $39.99
TTK Digital Download in UK - £39.99 ($61.18) = $21.18 more.
TTK Digital Collectors Edition in US - $79.99
TTK Digital Collectors Edition in UK - £79.99 ($122.38) = $42.39 more.
TTK Legendary Edition on disc US - $59.88
TTK Legendary Edition on disc UK - £44.00 ($67.32) = $7.44 more (although it is available cheaper on some sites).
The difference in price on the physical copy can be attributed to tax (UK VAT is 20%). However it is the same tax that applies to digital downloads and they do not have the same production and distribution costs as the physical copy. Why then is the price of the digital copies increased by over 50%?
Unlike in US, where you can buy codes for digital downloads from such places as Amazon, you can only get them from PSN and Xbox stores, meaning there is no competition. This is repeated in many other countries outside the US (e.g. Australia).
Why is it the physical copies take into account exchange rates, but digital do not?
The silence we have seen so far only indicates that there is no valid reason and it is just profiteering. Can we please have a valid answer from Bungie? Or better yet fair pricing.
