Year 5 guardians are given a choice. Stay in the light or go to the darkness. Destiny Darkness Edition is the same exact thing, but with microtransactions and a pay to win system behind it. We also get the play all the raids, but we fight along Atheon to send Kabr into a timeless void and massacre Eris' fireteam and -blam!- her soul until it bleeds darkness. Finishing Trials of Osiris opens up Mercury and we havr to hunt him down for a story mission. We also get to play in PoE, but we fight guardians and free our imprisoned dark comrades. These cost $10 a piece. Good news though. $10 Fate of all Fools too.
