Something to consider if you are thinking of buying the 1TB version.
Sony updated the PS4 to the (CUH-1200) model changed some of its internal components that make it lighter and more energy efficient. http://youtu.be/qZK_goyXGpQ
The 1TB model uses the old model (CUH-1100) it's internal components are less efficient which with prolonged use, can overheat. [i](This has been reported by some PS4 owners).

This post was originally intended for people who were thinking of buying a PS4, I didn't have those that already owned one in mind.
However If you already own one or are thinking of buying a PS4 (500gb) instead, you can swap out your internal hard drive quite easily. You can fit a compatible hard drive as per the information from Sony. It doesn't break the warranty if you fit one.
Sadly there is no external hard drive support currently.
