So shoutout to:
Esa is Cool
The Hammer 247
So I started with a fresh Skolas run with Esa and a squeaker who was arguing with his cousin (I was pretty annoyed about this).
Anyway we get to Round 3 relatively quickly (The Cabal arc burn round), and halfway through, the squeakers cousin grabs the power cord and yanks it. We can't dismantle mines due to sudden lag and then we wipe.
We then went to find a bubble Titan, and got Hammer to play with us. He had never beaten Skolas but understood the mechanics quite well. He was also really patient and mature about the whole thing.
So anyway, we cruise through Round 4 and 5 with relatively no trouble, and then we get to Skolas.
It took us 7-9 tries but we got it. On the 7th attempt we missed out killing him by one Gally rocket, worst feeling ever.
The last attempt to down him was probably the most stressful. There was a clutch moment when both of my teammates died during the dismantle mines section and I had to go and dismantle both (The stress was unbearable).
Then there was the bit when I went down with Hammer and all the adds were up, forcing Esa to clutch and revive us using his blade dancer with one second on the taint to spare.
But the joy from downing him again and from our newbie The Hammer 247 made it all worth it.
But yeah, anyway what I really wanted to say is:
Take time to help someone through a new raid, or show them the ropes at Trials. The joy you receive from helping someone is always worth your time :)
And to be honest, it doesn't matter if you are the best destiny player on Earth.

Glad to see not everyone is an asshole. Always get kicked when trying to do a 34/35 PoE because I have not yet done them
