Something to consider if you are thinking of buying the 1TB version.
Sony updated the PS4 to the (CUH-1200) model changed some of its internal components that make it lighter and more energy efficient. http://youtu.be/qZK_goyXGpQ
The 1TB model uses the old model (CUH-1100) it's internal components are less efficient which with prolonged use, can overheat. [i](This has been reported by some PS4 owners).

This post was originally intended for people who were thinking of buying a PS4, I didn't have those that already owned one in mind.
However If you already own one or are thinking of buying a PS4 (500gb) instead, you can swap out your internal hard drive quite easily. You can fit a compatible hard drive as per the information from Sony. It doesn't break the warranty if you fit one.
Sadly there is no external hard drive support currently.

Due to some lazy fanboys this post has been edited for clarity, but just to be sure please read below.
No one is telling you not to buy a PS4, no one is criticising the PS4, video links are for information only.
Here's something to wet the appetite for those thinking of getting a PS4, enjoy!

Build a PC instead.
-
Already have a ps4
-
Why would I want a Piece Of Shit 4?
-
I just wish we could put an external drive up to the usb on the PS4 likr the Xbone, i dislike taking my consoles apart
-
No man's sky anyone?
-
Sooner or later yeah. Uncharted Collection is tempting me to, but I'll wait awhile yet.
-
If you havn't already got a PS4, 2016's definately the time to have one, FFVII remake, Virtual Reality, Mech Assault games WITH VR, gonna be a good year :)
-
I was thinking trying to win one of those gold ps4 from taco bell than selling it or sending a video to Sony of us breaking it :)
-
Buy a pc

Edited by wedezaa: 9/5/2015 7:56:23 PMAll up to you bud: Do your friends play on ps4? Do you like playstation in general? See any exlucive games you might like? Ow, if you already have an ps4 don't buy a new one, just buy a bigger drive for storage. As for the new hardware etc, you won't / bearly notice it. The "old" ps4 is just as good. I never had any problems with overheating, and U even have a fancy 'sticker' that covers my ps4. (It's vinyl or something idk) Hope this helped you a lil bit, if you have more questions let me now
-
Thinking about it. Probably would, but none of my friends are upgrading from our PS3s.
-
Did last December....so glad I didn't get a shitbox
-
I have Xbox one
-
I want them exclusives but...I have no friends on playstation ;~;

Edited by thefourfoldroot: 9/1/2015 8:18:35 AMEven giving you the benefit of the doubt on the topic itself, it should be noted that - contrary to what you wish to claim - ps4s do NOT overheat. Edit: whilst my criticism of the topic may seem unreasonable here, Reign has heavily edited his original post and I agree with everything he now says (apart from the overheating but which was always unnecessary - put overheating anything in Google and it will come up with that appliance overheating, including every console made over the last 2 decades)
-
Only problem I have with my ps4 is that when I take a screenshot it keeps the home screen menu over lay the game but faded for a few seconds
-
Ps4 is good the only thing that I've had problems with is it not taking discs
-
-
Who would buy the 1tb ps4, when you can buy a 2TB hard drive for a normal ps4
-
I'm thinking of upgrading to 2TB hard drive but then ill lose PT. :(
-
No no no no no no no. Xbox one for the win
-
The title change fits the post better.
-
Kind of sad you had to edit the post due to 10-year-old fanboys with an attention span of a fruit fly..
-
Why the **** would I buy a PS4 when I have a lovely, fabulous, and majestic PC?
-
