Throughout this forum there's a large cohort who act pretty judgmental. They toss around idiot (or worse) quite casually and think they're quite something, presumably cause their grim says so.
To them I ask, have you heard of predictive analytics? Its the sonar that finds you and the depth charge that culls you.
There is barely more than a minimum wage job now that doesn't employ this selection tool. Its also coming in sideways, applied to current workers. It'll show dispositions, hostilities, emotional proclivities and though you'll be told there is no such thing as a fail, there is a very real consequence of showing that darker side - and you can't hide it from any of the predictive analytic surveys.
We've learned too much about this cohort to tolerate them in our midst anymore, or so the HR crowd has convinced the board rooms. If you test poorly, you'll never get a decent job or keep one. Life will not be a little less good than anyone else it'll be substantially reduced and artificially capped very near the low rung.
So for the kids out there who are mimicking the cool bravado of an anonomous loud mouth, sharpen yourselves on better people. These aren't going anywhere - good - and you don't want to find yourself stuck with their company and economic station - in perpetuity.
And to those who manage to find an endless well of patience and tolerance, who can muster calm in the face of abuse, know this: Emotional intelligence, right now at least, is hotter than an ivy league eduction. It'll get you hired, promoted, respected and heard faster than any other skill.
So, don't despair.
Thank you and good luck
