I know this is a funpost, buuuutttttt... Fun fact: I saw some documentary on the sinking, where they investigated the exact cause of the failure, and it was revealed that the Titanic's Hull should've been capable of withstanding the impact. However, to save money on the build, the Rivets holding the structure together, were made of a low quality metal (not even up to Industry standards, IIRC), resulting in a much easier hull breach. Had they been up to scratch, the Titanic would likely have reached its destination. OP's statement is partially correct.
