24+ hour stream on 9/15 starting at 5am eastern!
So I'm a newb streamer. I plan on getting a playstation camera in the future to stream more, but I need pointers.
I am a girl and everyone says that I need to show cleavage to get a lot of views. I really don't want that. Granted I will freshen up though and wear makeup and dress appropriately but Can you give me pointers and advice? I have some past broadcasts and would love if anyone with some free time could check them out. Lately I have some cod ones so please excuse those.
I understand having a schedule helps, but I don't plan on making one until I get a camera.
Thank you so much ahead of time!!!!!

WHAT I HAVE LEARNED:
Nightbot
Be yourself, dress as you would normally.
Don't be monotone, speak well and address audience.
If camera shy, place picture beneath camera to help.
Help viewers every once in a while.
Don't straight up ask for donations.
Check other high up streams for examples.
Try to be humorous and entertaining.
Don't be berating and trolly against chat trolls.
Expect nasty chat messages as a female, ignore it.
Try to save $ to invest in better streaming equipment.
Have party chat with everyone's voice to be heard.
Create a schedule, shows commitment.
Try streaming when main popular streamers are not.
Do not rage over own stupidity and blame other players
Do not need camera, but if do make sure background appropriate and lighting is good.
Have a good microphone.
There are some more that are very specific but I promise that I have made note of them. If I seem to be missing more info please let me know so I can add them to this post and use this thread as my "cheat sheet".
Edit: Lots of sound advice from everyone. Thank you so much! I still welcome more! YwY
Edit 2: wow! So much to read! I may not Che able to comment them all but I am listening to all you have to offer! Thank you so much for trying to help a future streamer! :)
Edit 3: I've decided to do the whole cam thing. I will be getting one this weekend and trying it out for a stream. :)

Edited by Kuna: 8/27/2015 9:12:01 AMAs a fellow girl, please allow me give you some tips ^-^ 1) Sadly, the cleavage is necessary for views, and sad part is, there is always going to be a few guys "looking" at you. We both know how it feels to get "looked" at. :/ 2) Don't be one of those streamers that rages or gets upset after they die in Crucible (*cough**shesmynerd**cough*). Just realize the mistake you made, and say things like "Damn, I should have used my pulse rifle instead" or "Okay....should have ran over there instead of turning that corner". Trust me, people will see how you analyze what you're doing to fix mistakes and not be toxic. 3) Choose an appropriate question from your chat (if there are questions), and answer it during load screens to keep your audience entertained. 4) Idk make a trademark phrase? Might do this so when someone hears or mentions that phrase, they know who it came from or what channel it represents. 5) Get prepared for the sexual comments and occasional salt. No explanation needed, you can figure that out on your own :/ Seeing as what you are trying to do now, and since you're kind of new but have some experience, welcome to the bottom of the Destiny streamer food chain. Stream your way up to where you want to be. Good luck. ^-^
