The price is reduced from £40 to £27.50
That would reduce the price so that it is in line with what the usa and the rest of Europe(with euro) are paying.
£27.50 is much more than what Ive usually paid for a Dlc in the past with any game but I will give Bungie the benefit of the doubt that this is an expansion and will contain more than the previous dlcs(which were priced at around £18 each or both with the season pass for £35)
Everything looks good, i want it but im not going to be taken the p!ss out of by paying a higher price than the rest of the globe.
EDIT.
*if its full game worthy why isnt it a full game price in the usa or anywhere else? Why only uk paying full game price
* if its to do with taxes in the uk then where were those taxes when I bought vanilla destiny, why did i only pay £40 and not £63.
also for the Americans who believe it is worth $63 but are only paying $40....put your money where you mouth is, buy the dlc for $40 and send me the remaining $23......il use that to buy ttk....everybody is a winner, destiny get the money they deserve, you get to pay destiny what you think the game is worth and I get ttk........tri-tri-tri triple win. (im not serious)

Id be happy with that price is even pay £30 because of "economics" or "taxes" or whatever excuse people are using.

Edited by CovenWitch: 8/27/2015 5:36:08 PMI can understand where you are coming from. I'll just add one point to your post. When in the U.S I pay $2.00 or less for a bottle of water if I'm out shopping and I'm thirsty. When I visited London about 8years ago, I stopped and bought a a bottle of water when I wasn't convenient to the hotel. When I calculated the conversion rate it was just under $10. Things cost more when converting the weak dollar In to pounds. It goes both ways. You all also make more money when converting to dollars per hour etc.....Can't compare your costs to ours unless you take into account pay vs. pay and cost vs cost etc. But that said even paying $40 is pretty steep for a DLC. I bought it and look forward to it but that's my choice. Good luck to you hopefully you either find something a lot cheaper to pay or prices are lowered for my gamers in the UK. :)

Good luck!!!

No one gives a -blam!-.
-
£20 is all I'm prepared to spend on dlc, I'll play it someday when it's cheaper
-
Signed and agree, price gouging because of being in a different country is a joke. It is bs and sets precedent for future games to do the same. All gamers should oppose this practice!
-
I appreciate that you are simply stating that you won't pay £40 for the DLC instead of winning that the price isn't fair. You're making a choice, and voicing it to Bungie/Activision in a manner that resounds with them (because it impacts their revenue). If enough people refuse to pay that much, they will drop the price. Good luck!

I really hope people keeping spamming the forums with this topic. One thread clearly isn't enough. You know what? Let's just give this topic its very own subforum...

Lmao. Cry more.

Then you will be left out. You can't expect something to be sold at the same price every where in the world just because of conversion rates. There are things called taxes that have to be paid in order to allow it to be sold in other countries, and no company is ever going to eat that cost just to give people a lower price, because a business is all about making money. If they can't make money then there is no reason to sell the product in your location.
-
Bungie really should fix that...
-
I'm waiting for initial reviews and if my friends buy it as well.
-
Srry m8, move to the st8s, prices are gr8
-
Give it a few months and the Legendary Edition will be reduced to $29.99. Maybe even less in a year. I have one question though. Since games are cheaper in the US, why don't u guys open a US account? A friend of mine in Germany has one.
-
I don't understand how the price others pay influences your decision. Fair?? No. But if you see value at a price point then buy TTK. Your decision on every purchase you make answers a question: Is the value > the cost.
-
I can hear you're tears hitting the floor!
-
Got it! Now go save the world "boff" it THAT is your real name
-
America what a country
-
something tells me you will end up paying the full amount
-
People making fun of this only because they don't have to pay extra, not even a bit of extra, converted to American dollars that's the price of a new game. I'm curious, is there anyone in the UK or Australia that actually thinks this is justified? Anyone?
-
Yeah, don't buy it. Buy Halo 5, Fallout 4 or Star Wars. Then go back and see if Destiny is even worth another look later...
-
It's a big thing coming out its not the same as house of wolves so it is going to be more money that's how it works
-
Yes! One less person to not hear moaning and groaning why xxxx won't drop in raid
-
I've read a few of your comments talking about being left behind. Don't worry. If you do choose to wait, and then later buy whatever, Bungie will offer some type of EXP boost so you can quickly level your character. That is what they are doing with TTK.
