Soooooo, im just going to throw this out there, but i was playing with a guy in trials, after watching his twitch stream, who used a Fusion rifle for great success, which got me a little back into using them.
Now mind you, he had one with accelerated coils so it had a faster charge, which increased his success rate with it greatly, as im sure it would with any fusion rifle.
When You pick a fight using a Fusion rifle you have to be extremely aware of your surroundings, not to mention you will lose to a shotgun unless you are precharged and let loose right before he does, at close to medium ranges its useful in 1-2 shots slightly less effective thatn say a Felwinters or Matador.
The Charge rate needs to be reduced across the board on fusion rifles, that would level them out a bit with shotguns and provide a very nice balance, but insteaed they are nerfing both Fusion rifle sand shotguns in 2.0.
Look at the Queen's Breaker Bow, it would be an AMAZING Fusion/Sniper in PvP if not for the Charge rate, the only reason i like using it in PvE is enemies tend to stand still more often than Enemy guardians, which i know will leave me highly disappointed in the Sleeper Stimulant heavy coming out, it will be far too easy to mistime your shot.

I think the main problem is PVE since they shoot marshmallows. I think a 100-150% base damage buff in PVE only would make them a legit option

i dunno, depends on the enemy, i can still do the 2 in 1 fusion rifle bounty on dregs and thrall, and anything bigger is 2-3 shots. Fusions IMO are better than shotguns in PvE for the most part. I still say the charge rates are what kills them for most people, they are not a very good reactive weapon, you have to sort of plan your shots and its too easy to miss and then get screwed because of the charge rate.

To each their own opinion I guess. I can barely take out a Captains shield with an arc fusion rifle. Maybe the large damage buff is a bit excessive but lets start by getting this problem noticed!
