Well no matter what it is a better alternative to the shotguns that dominate PvP content. Those will far exceed sniping in "crutch"-ness regardless of the exact type of sniper. A one hit kill at any range with a relatively higher skill level required (sniper) should be preferred over a far easier one hit kill at pretty much medium range given the current meta (shotguns)
