They completely ignored the sword.
ON PURPOSE.
Please don't get me wrong, I love the new strike, and all of the new mechanics. All of the detail, new boss interactions, enemy AI's fighting each other, while the Guardians are struggling in a battle of their own. So much multitasking was brilliant design for this strike.
HOWEVER: When Mr. Fruit was presenting his load out, Bungie forced him to completely treat the New Heavy Slot Weapon Type as if it didn't exist! This was even more infuriating by the attitudes of the Fireteam was so 'meh' about it.
THEY WENT INTO MORE DETAIL OVER THE ARTIFACT SLOT THAN THE SWORD.
THE ARTIFACT HAS NO PHYSICAL FORM UPON YOUR TOON. WTF??
I DGAF ABOUT THE ARTIFACT COMPARED TO THE SWORD.
The Sword is a whole new weapon type for a Guardian's Heavy Weapon slot, and they completely ignored it. Totally underwhelmed it for me when they used it from another player's perspective at the end of the strike, and the playing team treated it as if it was as cool as Dreg's Promise. *sarcasm*
DO YOU AGREE THAT THE SWORD IS A BIGGER DEAL THAN WHAT THEY MADE IT OUT TO BE AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN GIVEN A PROPER INTRODUCTION TO THE COMMUNITY?
-
-
Retarded that they took the time to show 3 artifacts that were all the same perk, just for different elements. Oooooh a chance to drop orbs on a melee, maybe!!!!!!!
-
Jeez, let there be something for us to discover in TTK. I guess you want them to show the raid too right?
-
I honestly think Bungie is trying to not spoil the surprise for us. Pretty sure they know how amped everybody is for it xD
-
He actually calls his character/avatar a "Toon."
-
They wanted fruits POV the whole time. The problem is that he sucked. He ran past enemies, pissing the developers off. So they switched him. He should have used it earlier.
-
It was a fail for this?
-
Do you not want some things to be a surprise and discover them for yourself? Just because you're pissy about them not showing it hardly made the stream a fail.
-
20 minutes of strike gameplay, alright guys bye!
-
It didn't show much!
-
Well, it was definitely better than the Prison of Elders stream. I don't mind that they didn't show off everything, since what would be the point of playing it afterwards if I've already seen everything? And honestly, I don't care all that much about the Sword to begin with. It looks like a reskinned lightsaber. You know, just like almost every other sci-fi work since Star Wars.
-
Because I'm sure they would like at least a few things to actually be surprises for us. I hope that they hold back a few things so we actually get to figure out things for ourselves. Instead of whiners wanting everything handed to them on a platter.
-
I personally think that too much information can be detrimental. I'm glad they didn't show off the sword. I wish I didn't know as much as I do now. When you have a certain expectation, and it's not met, you just get flustered. Too me, it's like going to watch a movie that shows off all the cool action in the trailer. Or how some trailers are followed by a bunch of clips from the movie. You go see the movie knowing everything about it... it's just not as good. Idk, just my thoughts.
-
Your choices don't make sense. Do you even words bro?
-
Please relax they just want it to be a surprise
-
I feel like it didnt show very much. Especially the relics. Atleast give us 3 of the different relic perks that r out there...
-
I'm Oryx

I think you're missing the point. Bungie doesn't want to spoil the surprise about the swords for you. They want YOU to discover it yourself. That's why we haven't seen the best exotics, or the other strikes, or the raid, or more than half the dreadnought, or more than 1 story mission, or any cutscenes, or even those swords. They want YOU to have the experience. What's the point of seeing everything now? It's not gonna be interesting if you see everything. AND we were only shown 3 out of who knows how many artifacts in the game. Everyone who has a brain in this community actually knows what I'm talking about and understands it. And if you don't understand that Bungie doesn't want to ruin their biggest expansion yet, then PLEASE go to school and learn. I'm tired of everyone complaining and critiquing every little thing Bungie does and then claiming it's constructive criticism. The hell it is! If it was constructive you would give them ways to improve and where to move forward. I can't believe people are complaining when they've only seen maybe 10% of this expansion. This is just... I don't even know. This community is way too bipolar.

Edited by U5334926: 8/27/2015 12:57:15 AMTHEY ARENT READY TO SHOW IT YET. Theirs this thing called bug fixes, imagine the forums if they were showing off the sword and it bugged
-
Okay, here's what I liked about the stream: -went over new subclasses -informative but still entertaining -went over artifacts What I didn't like -could barely hear Cayde-6 and could not hear Ghost -NO SWORD
-
They didn't ruin anything. Bungie wants to keep the suspense. You know there was a sword there. Therefore it is bothering you since you want to see it. This causes hype (sometimes) cause you want to see it in action
-
Edited by az350z: 8/27/2015 1:13:26 AMAre you saying you think that wasn't intentional? You'd be wrong. They purposely left it partially a mystery. Same reason they kept joking about heavy ammo. The one with camera even followed the sword guy on purpose.
-
Stream failed because mr fruit was there
-
Grow up.
-
He did use the sword!
-
Theres all this new content in TTK for you to discover & experience for yourself ..... but first heres a video showing you all of it before you can get get your hands on it. Yeah makes sense
