The Vault of Glass was a Vex experiment to try and write themselves into reality. They used Atheon, a mind connecting every timeline, every conflux that ever existed, to try and realize their goal. They also hoped to manifest the power of the Oracles, Templar, and Gorgons outside the Vault. The Hellmouth is the Hive base of operations. It's their HQ on the Moon; it branches out under the entire surface, connecting every single base or (possibly) other Hellmouths

Hey that makes me wonder, do you think the darkness partially manifested the vex into 'reality'? And then from there the vex made atheon to complete the vex? What if the heart is the remnant of that darkness? And that's why the heart was able to 'power' up nearby dormant/inactive vex.

The giant statues were built as vessels to the HotBG, binding it to the Vex and the Vex to it. I believe the Vex were creations of the Traveler in order to help with her terraforming.
Look at the progression from Precursors, normal vex, and Descendants. Goes from very bright and lightly colored to dark and sinister
You really found your favorite thread, didn't you?

Edited by WhatAreYouDoingStepXur: 8/27/2015 4:41:45 AMOf course there's also the possibility of them being darker because of how long they lay dormant. Vex are time travelers so the brighter ones are some of the first vex? But in order for them to carry out some plans they leave some dormant because they cannot simulate guardians and therefore have to anticipate them

But the thing is, the structure of the Vex chassis changes as you go from past, to present, to future, indicating that some change in design is happening over the millennia

Just random. Don't you think precursors should be the futuristic ones because they are shiny and look newer.

They look more pure, less corrupted by they HotBG. The Descendants are the ones who have been under its influence the longest, hence the darker and more sinister tones

Oh thanks, I've always wondered about that.

I could probably spend another 30 minutes here, but I got a hell of a cookie to cook here. See ya later ^_~
