I will begin my Rant with my question on the Class items. How will you handle changing all of the items? Will Year 2 Class items only be the ones with the new defense? I have a class cape with a deer on it and its a legendary item. I imagine the rarity will determine the defense and perks if any. Will it be the case that my legendary will provide high defense but not as much as a year 2 class item? Also will raid/rank bought Class items have defense ratings?
Weapons seem to be a huge topic with the new expansion. Everyone is concerned about having to level up the year 2 exotics. I understand but remember that with our weapons being outdated we need to focus on the new guns. Yes we are attached to our collection but I would like to see the new gear and see if it is worth running. Also they stated that they want to make new guns to us to become attached to. Remember that we have all new uncommon, rare, and legendary weapons to use. Plus all our gear will still be useful for the crucible. The Main problem is that we will have to work to earn A whole new set of stuff to run Year 2 Raids, Strikes, and Non restricted Crucible events. Even though we have our stuff for All of year one, We will have to hold at least two sets on us at all times. One for year 1 and one for year 2.
Year one content... How is that being handled. So all of our guns and Armor are being kept the same strength/power but reflected as different numbers. I can understand that but what about the Combat modifiers. When I play a vanilla mission I can bump the modifier to level 30 difficulty? Will that continue with the new dlc? Will Vog/Crota have a new difficulty along with the strike/ Strike playlist? Also if all the Missions get more levels to increase the difficulty that's a lot of icons on a list making it a little ridicules. A list from level 11 to 38 is a bit to long to fit on a screen.
This a complaint I have since I'm this style of player. I run Multiple guns when I play my game. The problem with that is you have to know what gun works with which area. For example, when you run the strike to kill the Revived Archeon. You have to unlock a gate that involves three waves of Vex. I run a Titan with full focus on auto rifles with one being the slowed fire while zoomed and the other for fast movement. I realize that range would work better with vex and there week spot and staying away from snipers. So I want to switch to the ranged auto but it takes 30 seconds to load my own inventory to even identify which tile it is on my primary slots. Then I wait for the game to switch to the gun and then back out. Even if I move away from the combat there is no guarantee that I will be safe and don't have a mic to refer this to my allies. I would like to see the time cut down if possible because there is no single gun for all situations.
Armor is another big thing. I hope that the update will mess with the defense rating and not the gear itself. I'm also curious on The level requirements on them. Will all year one armor require level 20? I'm sure you have thought of this but what about new armor? If the armor from year 1 is level 20 (theoretically)and if we get level 30 due to our armor inventory, will we need to grind to get gear around our new level to even stand a chance? I am glad though that anything we will wear or use wont matter to much on the crucible still.
I do like the catalog idea that will prevent copies of stuff you already have being dropped. I like the repurposing of the vendors. I am looking forward to the new guns, ships, shaders, shells, and now artifacts. My question is for both the shells and artifacts. What level will they be at. Will a level 5,10,15 character be able to get a shell or artifact? I'm also wondering what level you have to be to do the quest to get the new skill set. Plus I'm interested in what level the new ships or bikes will be.
I'm looking forward to the expansion but hope that things are balanced well for the change. Thx

I'm also hoping that all the old class items are updated to add stats and/or perks. Otherwise that would just be another huge chunk of Year 1 gear rendered obsolete.
