So, let me state this now: I have Thorn, it is one of my favorites (the look, the sound, the feel). It was the first exotic I received, so I will always have fond memories of it. I have LOTS of kills with it in Crucible (and for the foreseeable future I will get more).
BUT
I've seen dozen of these Anti-Thorn posts, and I know late to the party, but I have to now admit they are right. I used to side with Thorn users, thinking: "Get good, get the Thorn" or "It's an EXOTIC it's SUPPOSED to be powerful." Out of curiosity for the last month I stopped using it, just to see how it feels. Man, it feels awful.
There really is no other logical choice, The Last Word aside. Trying to use other weapons while everyone uses Thorn and TLW is so frustrating that it makes Crucible painful. The range and fire rate is so overpowered never mind the DOT.
So as a former Thorn advocate I admit that others are right, Bungie is doing the right thing and perhaps not even enough.
P.S. Don't get me started on TLW. For a gun that has marginal range is sure shoots a LONG way with super fast time-to-kill. This gun should have a range slightly more than shotguns do now.

I'm a noob to crucible. I've got 600+ hours pve but only just today decided to try out iron banner and give the ol' thorn a try. Lolol. Man, I got so many post mortem kills today it's ridiculous. Not to mention I can just jump way up into the air and practically snipe people with it. Mmmmm love <3
