I'm not sure I'm following. A technique that annoys some is considered being a scumbag?

  • It's scumbag to me if they don't bother to use primary. They just blink to you and shotgun with zero worries of running out of ammo.

  • If it works, gets kills, and helps their team win, isn't that being a good teammate? I know I want my teammates to be more effective, as opposed to less effective.

  • It's a scumbag move if you abuse a system that gives one player the ability to have little skill and in order to counter the other player has to have a huge increase in skill. By tilting the scale so you can ride the easy train...you become a scumbag.

  • Skill is not a requisite. Mastering something to the point of making it easy doesn't necessarily make someone a scumbag. Just means that one particular method works better than another.

  • You don't understand why you're a scumbag but one day you will and you'll think...holy shit why have I been this way for so long

  • Not likely. Not sure why you'd think I'd use this particular ability. I'm not even sure how any person could come to that conclusion based on anything I've typed. And it's doubtful I'd follow any recommended course of action suggested by someone with such a limited vocabulary. It is quite common for people with inferior abilities to get frustrated by others having superior abilities. It is my experience, in this game, that everyone has access to the same abilities.

  • I don't know why you are determined to measure intelligence when you can't grasp a simple concept of unbalanced abilities and what that means for the pvp scene. I apologize I confused you, because in your world everyone should be using the same load out because they have access to it. As long as they only play on one or two characters. Once you actually open up to an intelligent conversation instead of utter denial that there is an issue, revisit this thread. The desperation intelligence insult sounds pathetic as the "u mad bro" come back. Grow up.

  • No need to measure, it is evident to anyone reading who is or isn't intelligent. I'm not sure where you even came to that conclusion that I was measuring intelligence anyway. Vulgar vocabulary doesn't equal intelligence. I think you let your own cat out of that bag. Regardless - the abilities I was referring to were the character traits of each subclass or weapon (as you alluded to, of either having one of the characters or carrying one or more the commonly used weapons in PvP), not your personal abilities. Bungie created these formulas with various levels of advantages and disadvantages. The players simply use them. If there is a magic formula that works for many, why is wrong for them to use it? And - in my world, I wouldn't create such an unbalanced game, with obvious character traits or OP weapons. But Bungie did. So players must play the game as Bungie decided. Not you. Not me. If there is a formula that works for someone, and I cannot beat it, clearly the issue is not with my opponent, but with me. I must adjust to succeed, or I will be relegated to defeat. Now - those adjustments can be many things - different weapons, different characters, different traits, different tactics, different fire team (if using teams), etc... Some have posted on here the many ways to counter certain load-outs. It appears that your issue is not with the players that are operating with a given set of parameters, but the maker of those parameters that permitted them to. How can we hold against the players their ability (and choice) to use something or not? Who are we to judge players in a game they want to play in a different way than we do?

  • If there is one superior way to play the game that is the problem. You can't have variety and individual play styles if everyone is doing the same thing, since it would be superior. Bungie didn't design this game with "this is the best way." They wanted a little individuality.

  • While I agree with this premise, this isn't what they designed. Are people suggesting that Bungie didn't test this model extensively before releasing? That would imply they don't know how to design a balanced game with variety. And this would then lead to constant adjustments, in an attempt to fix this. Surely after the first few tests (before releasing the actual game), this behavior would be modified enough that balance would be restored, right? Either that, or sales are on target, and Bungie doesn't care until next DLC purchase.

  • Well... You have a point, but there are some quirks that they missed admittedly

  • Of course. And you probably noticed the intended slight satire of suggesting Bungie can't develop a game properly. This game has so many good things going for it, which is why we see complaints. If we didn't care, we'd just pick up another game. I want to enjoy every aspect of this game. I'm remaining hopeful. I'm hoping Bungie continues striving toward a balanced PvP game. I believe the hardest object to consider in engineering is human behavior. Entire industries exist because of odd human behavior and tendencies. I hope they get it right. Thanks for reading all of that gibberish of mine.
