Spread the Pain (A Nightstalker Build)

With the reveal of some of the new exotics, I felt inspired to draw up the breakdown of the Nightstalker build I'm hoping to run once The Taken King drops. So here we go with the theory-crafting: Spread the Pain: A Nightstalker Build Skill Tree: Grenade: Vortex Grenade- A grenade that creates a vortex which continually damages enemies inside the sphere (Alternative: Slash Grenade- A grenade that creates a horizontal wall of burning void light) Super: Shadowshot- Tether a large group of foes to a Void Anchor, slowing and silencing them for your Fireteam -Super Modifier: Inextricable- A portion of damage taken by one tethered target is passed to all other tethered targets Melee: Smoke- Throw smoke to slow and disorient those within its cloud -Melee Modifier: Envenomed- Adds a toxin that suffocates enemies within Smoke Class Perk 1: Well Provisioned- Gain an additional grenade and significantly increase grenade duration (Alternative: Uncanny Archer- Every target tethered increases your Armor and Recovery stats by 1 until Shadowshot is next recharged. Reduced time until next Shadowshot) Class Perk 2: Rapid Shot- After firing your initial Shadowshot arrow, you may fire up to two explosive arrows in rapid succession (Choose whatever Training Perks work best for you. Without Uncanny Archer it might be worth it to pick perks granting more Armor/Recovery, but it's all personal preference) Equipment: Weapons: Choose whatever you play best with, but something with close-to-mid-range capabilities and possibly Firefly would work wonders. Monte Carlo might also work well to keep your Melee ability up frequently (plus it's getting a Year 2 version) Armor: Armor should be granting max Discipline and Strength. Yup, you heard me. Max. Discipline. And. Strength. Exotic Armor Piece: Sealed Ahamkara's Grasps- Recently revealed, these Gauntlets allow Hunter's to hold two charges for their Melee ability and gives the chance for Melee damage to reload your Primary Weapon. Two Smoke Bombs, people! Playstyle: This build is meant to be a Crowd-Control build with major Area-of-Effect offensive capabilities when its Super is used. Playstyle revolves around being able to corner any number of enemies by chucking two Vortex Grenades and two damage-dealing Smoke Bombs and using your Super to trap and damage large groups of enemies. The key perks here are Inextricable and Well Provisioned as well as the Exotic perk from Sealed Ahamkara's Grasps. Once your Super is up, trap as many enemies as possible. Then throw your double Vortex Grenades and double Smoke Bombs. These will hopefully be dealing a fair amount of Damage-over-Time to multiple enemies at once. A portion of the damage these enemies are receiving from your four grenades and melee over a large period of time will then be transferred to one another, meaning the enemies will be receiving tick after tick of damage (all while being practically immobile and unable to escape in your tether). To add the finishing touch, you can fire off your two explosive arrows to deal heavy damage that will also be transferred to any tethered enemies not already in the blast radius. All in all, enemies would be receiving damage from at least a few of these sources: -The initial Shadowshot -2 Vortex Grenades -2 Envenomed Smoke Bombs -2 Explosive Arrows -Any Weapon damage you can deal before Shadowshot ends -All damage transferred via the Inextricable perk This is a pretty basic outline of how this build would work. Obviously it might not be the best against single targets, but once you start getting even two enemies grouped together you could start chaining damage. Where this build really shines is against crowds. I hope this build intrigued you or even got you thinking of your own for when The Taken King comes out. If you want to, comment if you have any suggestions for this build. Thanks, all!
