If Christ were alive today, I think an argument can be made that he wouldn't be criticizing atheists for holding different views. The bible tells of instances where Christ visited with sinners, non believers, and those of other faiths. He didn't try and force feed them his teachings either. He simply lived his life the way he felt was best, and other people were drawn to him as a result of that.
