So in last weeks reveal, we learned that Exotic blueprints will be in the Tower. Cool right? Well....how many people actually accidentally delete exotics? I mean, we can lock them all, and it's just not a widespread issue in my mind. Anyways, the current way Bungie laid it all out was that if we "accidentally" delete an exotic, we can simply go to this kiosk, use 1 exotic shard and purchase the shell of the exotic we lost. We then can go and upgrade it and smile once more. This sounds sweet, but how many players will actually use this? I have to think maybe a hundrd or less.
As mentioned in last weeks Planet Destiny Podcast, Popebear (not sure of spelling of his name) had an EXCELLENT idea to make it actually useful to everyone. Instead of the system laid out above, make it more of a trophy case. You upgrade Hardlight to max levels, but you never use it and it just sits in your vault or taking up space on a character. Ok, well how about we put it in that Exotic Kiosk, it REMAINS fully upgraded, and for 1 Exotic shard you can go and get it back to use it anytime you want. This solves the problem of vault space even more, AND you don't have to only get that Hardlight shell now, it's actually upgraded and ready to go. It just makes more sense this way.
Double vault space is awesome, great, and I'm not complaining at all. This system however, would make vault space even bigger, reducing the amount of Exotics we have and don't use at all. We can have them in the kiosk knowing it's always there for a measly shard to pull it out.
Please share this idea guys, and comment if you have a better idea or correction I may have overlooked. It would be better for Bungie to delay this at launch than launch it and 4 people use it. Bump if you agree, share on forums, and lets see if we can get Bungie to respond or consider this. I think it's way more practical.
