I've always personally avoided OP weapons. The only one i've used consistently is the last word, and that was only because it was the one gun i wanted more than any other. I've used pulse rifles since the beta. Even during the reign of the auto rifle, i dropped big numbers using a pulse. I avoid the op weapons because i don't wanna get spoiled on them. I don't ever wanna feel like "oh man if they ever nerf this weapon, what am I gonna do?!". Its that reason, why i never mained my thorn and why i even stopped using the last word. If i know i can steam roll with a weapon, then i don't break it out unless i have too. I know that if i use the red death, i'll line the floors with bodies, so i keep it as a last resort. Same thing with the last word, same thing with the hawkmoon. Thorn is only for when facing a team of frauds using thorn. Its interesting to watch people spoil themselves by using obviously OP weapons in pvp, only to have a meltdown when the obvious nerf occurs. Then these frauds actually say shit like "well congrats, you noobs cried so much that bungie is nerfing this perfectly balanced weapon." I remember when auto rifles and fusion rifles "took more skill". They took so much skill to get kills with that EVERYBODY used them in pvp. People actually tried to pass off the thorn as if it were some "high skill" weapon.
