Is Oryx a part of the Nine, is he "an aspect of darkness." Or is he the alien force that the Nine made a pact with?

I don't believe he's either. Don't quote me on this, but I believe the nine are indirectly helping us.

Then why did they release Skolas?

Later in the Grimoire, when Skolas is captured, he goes insane and talks about the Darkness and Oryx. I believe the Nine did this so they could earn us of Oryx's arrival. Just a theory.

Seems a bit far fetched tbh. Good speculation though. Hopefully TTK will nudge the lore along a bit
