The hive is the darkness while the cabal and fallen are scavenger races while the vex and the traveler are the forgotten war and the darkness is all a simulation from the vex

Cabal - Warlords colonizing our solar system to escape an unknown power [Oryx] Vex - Believed as machines of war, but where made by the traveler to colonize planets (they went rogue though) they are mainly defending their territory Fallen and Hive - Invasive to the human species on Earth Cabal - Invasive, but have not really stepped foot on earth Vex - Defenders of their colonies
