1. Are Guardians actually immortal? (i.e. do they age slower than us or are they immune to illness?) 2. Are normal City citizens able to become Guardians if they train under the Vanguard's directions? 3. Were Exos human before they became androids? 4. Is English the accepted universal language of the Last City on Earth, or is it French, or Chinese? 5. Is the Last City really located somewhere in Brazil? 6. What happened to Old Chicago? 7. Did the Awoken exist before or after the Traveler was discovered? 8. Who the hell was my Guardian before he was resurrected by Dinklebot?! 9. Is New Monarchy a fascist regime? SUPER-ÜBER-MEGA-SERIOUS QUESTION 10. Amanda Holliday = "best girl"???
English

  • 9. New Monarchy simply wishes that a single, strong leader ruled the City instead of a 'weak' Consensus. Actually, that does sound fascist... 10. Cayde-6 certainly thinks so

    1. Guardians cannot age or get sick, but they can die permanently if their Ghost is destroyed. 2. Normal people can become Guardians, but they are labeled as renegade and dangerous (e.g. Shin Malphur). 3. I believe the first Exos were either seeded with human consciousnesses or were the product of one of Dr. Shim's team's proxy bodies. 4. The Last City has no official language, but is a melting pot of all surviving civilizations and languages. 5. Based on research and calculations, it appears the City is located somewhere in the Andean area, likely Chile or western Argentina. 6. Old Chicago was lost in the Collapse, and is now a ravaged swampland. 7. The Awoken were born towards the end of the Collapse, as the Traveler's Light pushed back the Darkness. 8. Your Guardian was most likely just an average person/Exo, but it is likely that he/she used to be Dr. Shim, seeing as the Archive called you that, and Shim's gender was never stated in the grimoire

  • Why are the ghosts so important? Are they what keeps us alive?

  • They are our scouts, lock picks, friends, and resurrectors. A Guardian without a Ghost is still a Guardian, but their next death will be their last

  • 2. Why are they labeled as renegades and dangerous? Does the Traveler's Light mess with their ability to think logically?

  • he could have explained this one better: normal people can't but people strong with the light can be guardians. normally they are considered dangerous because they know their past, as they were alive in the same life they were chosen by a ghost. basically, it is kinda of like racism. the city doesn't trust them because they became guardian when they were alive.

  • Brazil? That makes no sense. "Civilization once stretched from the southern tip of this continent, to the frozen North." South America is definitely its own continent. And Columbia is definitely not frozen. Where did you get that?

  • I realized that it's not Brazil, but the Andean region. Read up: http://www.polygon.com/2015/1/20/7862009/destiny-tower-last-city-location-science-sun

Were you aware of the pre-launch star charts that came out before Destiny? When they were conglomerated together they created an old map of Puerto Princesa, Palawan, Philippians. Just wondering - http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/b7/Puertoprincesa_chart4343_1904.jpeg - http://dotranchchurros.com/goldenticket.jpg OG thread: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/3354977/0/0

  • Based of off the giant orb on the upper right on the second link, I would say that was one of the locations the Traveler visited personally. The topography of the region just doesn't seem right when compared with the City

  • The Last City is in Nepal. That's why bungie had a big thing with the Nepal fundraising. Logistically, it makes more sense than Brazil. Why fight in the cosmodrome if that's half the earth away? And the calculations were flawed because the skybox API inverted the latitudes coordinates.

By your logic Halo's surface gameplay took place on Gulf Coast US, Haiti, and Japan (Fight the Flood, Heart event in H3, and I forgot which Japan's was).

  • Correction: it's not in Brazil, it's in the Andean area. And Bungie made a big deal about it because people were -blam!-ing dying there and they wanted to get a lot of people involved by bribing us http://www.polygon.com/2015/1/20/7862009/destiny-tower-last-city-location-science-sun

  • The mountains in the background of the tower match those in Pokhara Nepal. Do you believe that bungie made the earth and moon rotations and orbits 100% accurate? And if they did, do you think they accounted for the fact that earth is not a perfect sphere? And still, why fly half the world away to reclaim land? That makes no logical sense. If the city was in the Andes areas, we would be fighting in places around there. You can't reclaim land that's half a world away and surrounded by enemies on all sides.
