"M-m-muh weapons" He cried as his favorite weapons were nerfed.
You guys do realize why Bungie is making everything (apart from a few exotics) UN-upgradable?
They're essentially wiping the guns clean and it's OUR fault.
Still using that old sniper from TDB that has final round?
Not anymore.
Still cheesing bosses and being an elitist about Gjallarhorn?
Nope.
Playing Crucible easy mode and getting the highest K/D in Crucible because Thorn?
You wish.
Blink Shotgunning your way to victory?
R.I.P. Scrub.
Destroying Sepiks, Walkers, Archon Priest, Atheon, etc with Black Hammer and Ice Breaker?
Get outta here.
Am I guilty of these things?
Of course I am.
Is it my fault?
Kinda.
I use these tactics and weapons, I'm at fault for being a scrub.
I blame others for elitism, but us as a community are to blame for that as well.
I mostly blame Bungie for making such OP weapons and then taking their time to nerf them.
Taking a lot of time too.
Thorn has been dominating for quite some time now. On top of that, you can still glitch Thorn (Never done that before, but was blamed for doing so)
Am I salty?
A little. Playing against a team of all Thorn is kinda frustrating.
Some Hopscotch here and there, but not too bad.
I'm so hyped for weapons patch 2.0 and for our weapons to be mostly useless in TTK.
Hopefully Bungie won't screw up this time and make a certain gun the next Gjallarhorn.
-Opinions are opinions, if you think I'm bad at Destiny and I should kill myself or something similar to that, okay. That's your opinion-
EDIT: Hey guys, criticism is great and all, but if you feel that I'm wrong in any way, please point out why, don't just insult me.
I promise if you pose an argument to mine in a reasonable and sensible manner, I will reply back and maybe even agree with your points and admit defeat. Calling me names doesn't get you anywhere and I'll end up ignoring you.

You have described a game i can't wait to play.
-
“The last thing we wanted was for you to look at your favorite gun or helmet and decide that it had become obsolete… the time you invested in your stuff should be respected.” http://www.bidnessetc.com/business/bungie-destiny-an-unmet-promise/ Bungie remember this?
-
The Meta changing isn't a big deal. New best weapons will be overused like always, not because it's "easy mode" but because smart players use the Meta game to their advantage
-
Fives.
-
But the level changes won't effect skirmish or any normal game types, it'll be a shame to see some of them go in level based crucible but it'll be nice to use new things
-
What I don't get is why the weapons that are being carried over (example: last word) can't be ascended, I would sacrifice ANYTHING to be able to do that.
-
Lml i wanted to make a post like this. It explains exactly y weapons are being nerfed. Lml im glad u beat me to it
-
I've always personally avoided OP weapons. The only one i've used consistently is the last word, and that was only because it was the one gun i wanted more than any other. I've used pulse rifles since the beta. Even during the reign of the auto rifle, i dropped big numbers using a pulse. I avoid the op weapons because i don't wanna get spoiled on them. I don't ever wanna feel like "oh man if they ever nerf this weapon, what am I gonna do?!". Its that reason, why i never mained my thorn and why i even stopped using the last word. If i know i can steam roll with a weapon, then i don't break it out unless i have too. I know that if i use the red death, i'll line the floors with bodies, so i keep it as a last resort. Same thing with the last word, same thing with the hawkmoon. Thorn is only for when facing a team of frauds using thorn. Its interesting to watch people spoil themselves by using obviously OP weapons in pvp, only to have a meltdown when the obvious nerf occurs. Then these frauds actually say shit like "well congrats, you noobs cried so much that bungie is nerfing this perfectly balanced weapon." I remember when auto rifles and fusion rifles "took more skill". They took so much skill to get kills with that EVERYBODY used them in pvp. People actually tried to pass off the thorn as if it were some "high skill" weapon.
-
What I don't get is Patch 2.0. It gets released at the same time as TTK, right? When TTK launches all of the exotics without a second generation coming forth will become basically useless, yes? So why does Patch 2.0, which comes at the same time as TTK, bother nerfing/tweaking a whole bunch of exotics when TTK automatically obsoletes them anyway?
-
I dont think that ghally deserved a nerf Xur selling ghally was the perfect way of everyone having a chance to get ghally No more "special snowflakes" or cheesing raids
-
Patch 2.0 means auto rifles will be relevant again!
-
if you think I'm bad at Destiny and I should kill myself or something similar to that, okay
made me lol

Edited by RammerJammer327: 8/25/2015 2:14:11 PMI get thorn is OP, no issue on that. I am tired of everyone thinking just because you play a different play style then you're a scrub. You can tell a try hard when you see one...Hunter, TLW, Sniper and lucky raspberry. According to a lot of people using a shotgun is scrubby and using a sniper takes skill(I won't argue that point). So, what if every single person used a sniper? Can you imagine how boring that would be?? Sometimes I snipe and sometimes I shotgun...anything that's within the confines of the game is ok by me
-
Blame ascending weapons ... thats communitys fault for that. Upgrading old shit is what caused it.
-
You do realize that there will always be " OP guns". People always want to win, why play if not right? Well how do you win you might ask. You'll see what guns/items the winning community is using and use them yourself. Just wait I can already hear scrubs and kitties yelling for nerfs within the first month of TTK. I mean hell HOW came out and so many horrible players couldn't beat skolas. They basically turned the 35 arena into a nightfall strike. But with worse loots in the chests. Lol
-
I've never had a problem with thorn. The Last Word is way worse in pvp
-
I agree

Edited by Dark Wedge: 8/25/2015 10:11:28 AMThere will always be another Gjallarhorn, and another Thorn. This is the cycle of weapon development. And what Bungie terms as balanced will always come under scrutiny when it hits the community. Again, that's just the natural development lifecycle within a video game. But we the players don't help matters. All those elitists out there going "you cant do X raid unless you have Y weapon". Why the -blam!- not? Do you think the first people to tackle the raid had Y weapon, and level 34? No they bloody didn't. What you want is an easy ride without a challenge, so you ask for everyone to have Gjallarhorn or IceBreaker because you cant be bothered to undergo the challenge that is the white knuckle raid as it was designed. I've still yet to do any end game content, Skolas, Atheon, Crota. Why? Because I cant be arsed battling against the majority of elitists out there who wont let me run with them because my Gjallarhorn isn't upgraded. Honestly, if it was I'm the type of person that wouldn't bloody use it anyway just to argue a point. Exotic weapons should always be awesome, beautiful and powerful. Whats the point of them being exotic if they aren't? What needs to change here is not the way in which Bungie develop a gun, or the way in which they nerf them, its the way in which the community adopt a stupid attitude because people don't have that gun. I'm happy for a weapon, or a number of weapons to be classed the best weapons out there, weapon balance or not. I just wish the community would stop being so elitist about weapons, because that is what ruins the game, not what Bungie do. Out with the old, in with the new. Bring on new weapons, I'll happily leave everything I've worked hard for over the last 12 months in the vault. Where's the challenge otherwise.
-
Used scouts before, will probably use them after. As for exotics it's usually juju, mida or p&t. I do use blink and snipe, and I will admit it gets you out of ridiculous things like rockets and supers. All that said, 2.0 looks fun.
-
Can we just wait for the release of the DLC before being so opinionated? I mean they have released a few things here and there about what we are to experience but until we actually experience it ourselves no rant or opinion on what's next means much. I'm not arguing with or against any of your opinions but I'm simply saying pump the brakes until we actually get our hands on year 2 and then we can all formulate the facts of what is and what isn't then. Cheers!
-
Bump, at least in TTK people including myself will use different weapons for once.
-
Oh they will there will always be a gun thats op and used to cheese the game. I think they nerfed gally because sleeper simulate is going to be op. Or the sword
-
The people complaining about weapons being left behind has never played borderlands ultimate vault hunter mode. Had to get rid of all my weapons.... Twice
-
Edited by ZetaScorpii: 8/25/2015 1:18:08 PMJust shows how incompetent bungie is when it comes to weapons. Hope you suckers enjoy shit weapons now lol! Ask anyone with a V8 if they're happy to downgrade to a V6.
-
Edited by Brewchino: 8/25/2015 1:14:26 PMI wish they'd give me back icebreaker. My favorite sniper, and I'm a 90% PVP player Edit: blasphemy, I know. Regular crucible, I know. It just won't feel the same...

>high K/D because of thorn >doesn't have high K/D
