Wait hold on? Who's God? God exists? Does anyone have any proof or research for me to confirm this?

http://bible.com/100/rom.1.19-20.nasb because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.
-
If that were true then why didn't native Americans know about God "from within" before missionaries stripped them of their culture and introduced him?
-
They had their gods. The creation doesn't specify a god, but it shows you that there is a God and if you honestly seek him, he will reveal himself.
-
Why do children not believe in God when they first gain conscious thought? I know I didn't believe in God and thought the idea was stupid from Christmas day, age 4. My mother and father were catholic along with my grandmother and I never believed the myth
Yeah, I remember when I became cognizant and aware
-
We're all born with a sinful nature. Sin separates us from God. It's only through the working of the holy spirit that we truly believe.
-
That contradicts the statement that you made that all children, basically, are born with an inherent belief in God
-
I never said that. I said God made himself known through creation, but we suppress that by our sinful nature. You can see God in creation and not worship him. It's only through the holy spirit that we can trust in him.

Edited by Azazel9876: 8/25/2015 2:42:42 AMSee? It's circular logic. We can't understand God until we suppress our inherent evil nature and we can only suppress it with faith in which it is entirely irrelevant for the first bit!
-
He only reveals himself through others though. That's why missionaries exist. Nobody is looking for him till he puts himself in your life. There are still undiscovered tribes who know nothing about the abrahamic God.
-
And even if there are, if they search for him, he'll reveal himself.
-
Not true. They are living their same day to day lives they have lived for thousands of years. It is natural for humans to search for answer in life. Who am I? What is this place? What do I do? Where do I go? When we don't have some kind of reliable method to help us discern, we imagine and believe. That's what other tribes have done. They made up their own religions to explain reality. That's what the Jews did as well as the Muslims. The birds did it and so did the Egyptians. The reason that these polytheistic and monotheistic beliefs have stopped sprouting up is because we are understanding and observing our reality. Our purpose as humans is to understand and comprehend. That's what separates us from animals.
-
Yes, we seek to understand God's creation. That's in the bible. http://bible.com/100/ecc.1.13.nasb And I set my mind to seek and explore by wisdom concerning all that has been done under heaven. It is a grievous task which God has given to the sons of men to be afflicted with.
-
Basically. Lol I didn't need the bible to figure that out though.
-
Neither did Solomon when he wrote that.
-
If they are undiscovered, how do you know they exist?
-
Documentaries. I saw footage of a new tribe that was either in new Zealand or the amazon. It was funny watching them shoot arrows at the plane. Most likely they'll introduce "the silver roaring bird" into their religious lore.
-
Then they aren't undiscovered. And if they seek God, he will reveal himself and then they can choose whether or not to worship him.
-
They were undiscovered till then. Right now your being difficult. For the record, no human contact was actually made with that tribe because it could be dangerous to expose them to our technology and modern sicknesses. Who knows. Their immune systems might not be able to combat a common cold. So you're saying that a people who already have their own answers to everything will discover God if they decide to look for him, even if there is nobody to educate them about him?
the benefit of religion is that sometimes you can make irrational claims that can't be reasoned with. They only require belief.
-
Actually, if there is a God that wants to be known, he will make it happen. He can reveal himself however and wherever he wants.
-
Course he can. He's God. He can do anything he wants. Thanos would still beat him though.
