That's not true. J Cole and Kendrick Lamar are two of the most socially aware and realest rappers out there. Their songs are catchy and really speak to the listener. You're talking about the kind of rapper like current Lil Wayne or Nicki Minaj.

Well at least you listed good rappers, being real is important to rap, thats why I really dislike people like drake and such. (long list of bad surface rap that I'm not gonna list)
