Why though? You need to explain your statements otherwise you have essentially done nothing but state an opinion
-
Ripping off would mean that they actually used the same exact game mechanics as Destiny's. By no means it's the same mechanics. Every game is inspired by another game. Every game will have some sort of similarity with other games, that's how it goes.
-
Golden gun and the specialist ability are nearly identical, both have timers, both have a number of shots, both are one hit kills, both are hand canon type weapons, both are used after an amount of time/kills. I honestly can't find a real difference between be 2, and if that's not a clear ripoff then I'm not sure what would be.
-
You must be a huge fan of Destiny then to call it a hand cannon. It's called a pistol for most other FPS games. You can say that Destiny ripped off CoD with their supers, since supers are considered as kill streaks. Supers if you don't know, can be obtained by doing absolutely NOTHING. Kills streaks can't, you actually have to put in work to get kill streaks. FYI: 1 hit kills? most kill streaks are 1 hit hills. So again, you can argue that Destiny stole the idea of OHKs from CoD. Like I said, what BO3 has was inspired by Destiny.

The specialist abilities can be obtained through time just like supers, I called thee gun a hand canon because that is exactly what it looks like, not your conventional pistol, a hand canon. Killstreaks are nothing like supers, the only similarity is that supers can be obtained through kills and kill streaks as seen in the name are the same. I played the black ops beta, and it was fun, I enjoyed the experience but that doesn't mean that it didn't just take from other FPS that have come out recently. Parkour, titanfall didn't invent it but they used it in a FPS, one that competed with cod too, and so cod decided that if people left cod to go play titanfall that they'd get them back by adding what made it unique to their game (excluding Titans because that would've allowed for a copyright). Destiny, while also published by activision, is going to prevent cod from having as many sales as it could, so they're going to take some parts that made destiny unique and put it into their game. It's incredibly lazy and I can't believe that they'd do such a thing. Cod is dying and in a last resort they're trying to copy other games to make theirs more appealing instead of actually making a high quality and unique game.
-
Firstly, Titanfall could never compete with CoD. There are no indications of that. Secondly, from what I've seen, You have to kill or obtain some sort of score to build your specialist bar. Yes, CoD is dying. It's dying because it's lost their originality. Nothing has been ripped off, because if we play the "who ripped off whom" we can very well go back to the very first FPS games and say that everyone else ripped off the very first FPS game.
-
Please don't let your love of the franchise cloud your judgement. You countered my statement of ripping off titanfall by saying that it can't compete with cod, that's you conceding to the fact that cod ripped it off. And yes specialist streaks can be obtained without kills, I'll just randomly get mine without any sort of points being obtained and I've also watched the bar, it does fill without any points. Back to the point of ripping off versus inspired by. Let's choose halo and destiny, two games that are similar. I bet that the sword of crota is based off of the energy sword and gravity hammer, but it's isn't a complete copy. It has its own lore and importance to the game, and both looks and functions in a different way. That's an example of inspiring. This here is not inspiration, they didn't change enough to make it that. Had they included abilities that weren't just copies of destiny supers then I'd be fine. Things like the sparrow, glitch, tempest, and war machine are unique, that shows that treyarch didn't need to copy destiny to make the specialist abilities, they could've made all of them unique but they didn't.

Please don't let your lack of experience in play FPS games give you a bias opinion. As I've said, we can go back to the very first FPS game. We can argue that all other FPS games copied the whole POV aspect of shooting. Yes it was inspired. Do you glow bright fiery orange when using the Annihilator? As a matter of fact, revolver pistols have always been OHK in CoD. So let's just say that Destiny copied CoD with their OHK revolver kills. The only difference is that they made theirs into a super. Let's talk about Wolfstein 3d, or Doom or any of the original FPS games. Let's talk about how Destiny, Titanfall and CoD copied the whole use of PoV FPS. Let's talk about Golden Eye with the use of OHK modes and how other games have copied it. Let's just go way back then.
-
You're being ridiculous right now, it's one thing to copy key elements of a shooter and another to copy what made a game unique to other FPS. I'm done with this conversation, it's going nowhere.
-
You're going nowhere. You are limited to whatever experience you have with FPS gaming. You're arguments have been with games that haven't been around long enough (with the exception of Halo). Go educate yourself and gain more experience by playing the older FPS games. Every game is inspired by older games, that's just the way things are.

This comment proves that you don't read what I say. My point involves cod ripping off its recent competition but you go ahead and completely skip that part of what I said, then act as if I haven't played older FPS. Stop responding as this is my last comment, I don't want the unnecessary notifications

My last comment proves that all you have to go by are the newer FPS games. Destiny a competition to CoD? You need to open your eyes. I'm not defending CoD because I fanboy them, as a matter of fact, I barely played AW and didn't even play Ghosts. Here's the point, you saying that CoD ripped off Destiny is by far a stretch. I can't repeat it enough to say that your lack of gaming experience has clouded your judgement. I don't hold anybody's opinion of any value if all they have to by is newer games. If you had actually had played the much older FPS games, you would see that they also "ripped off" each other.
