Modern Warfare (cod4) and WaW didn't have a bunch of long range shotguns or OHK handguns. Those weren't introduced into the CoD franchise until MW2 with the aforementioned weapons. Since then, each CoD has had one or two shotguns that had ludicrous ranges. I can't speak for AW since I've never played that (nor will I) but the others had shotties that could be used effectively at longer than normal ranges. The point I'm making is that it's not something that's new to the CoD franchise and certainly not something that was taken from Destiny.
